Hi Hungry Girl,

I was just wondering if there is any eggnog out there that does not have a lot of calories and would be okay to have around the holidays. Thanks!

Nog, Nog. Who's There?

Hi Nog, Nog!

Thanks for your email. Eggnog can be a serious source of excessive calories during the holidays. Just one cup of it -- without any alcohol -- has around 425 calories and 20g fat. There are some "lite" eggnogs out there, but be careful -- many of them still pack in 300+ calories per cup. That sounds like a big cuppa "no thanks" to me! And here's a little heads-up for you about Starbucks' Eggnog Latte: Even if you order a 12-oz. version (a.k.a. Tall) made with nonfat milk and no whipped cream, it's still going to clock in at 350 calories and 15g fat! Okay, now that we've got the scary stats out of the way, I have a slew of delicious, guilt-free ways for you to get your nog fix...

No-Nonsense Nog - This is the HG recipe for classic egg-less eggnog. Creamy and awesome!

Dreyer's/Edy's Limited Edition Egg Nog Slow Churned Light Ice Cream - This scoopable stuff is only available during November and December, so stock up! Each 1/2-cup serving has 100 calories and 1.5g fat (PointsPlus® value 3*). P.S. If you can't find the slow-churned kind, the regular type has 140 calories and 6g fat per serving (PointsPlus® value 4*).

Cinn-fully Good Choco-Nog - Another HG recipe, and it's totally decadent and desserty. Click and sip!

Pumpkin-licious Nog - This recipe is PIE-INSPIRED. I love it!

BTW, click here for some fun things to do with eggnog once you've whipped up a batch. (Recipe ideas; I'm not suggesting you take it out dancing.) Enjoy the nog, you!

Dear Hungry Girl,

I just bought a box of chocolate VitaTops (I had never tried them), and I love them! I was wondering if you have any recipes using them, as an alternative to eating them plain (even though they're great on their own!). Thanks!

Mad-4-Vitas Marissa

Hi Marissa,

I love VitaTops right out of the wrapper (as you probably know!), but sometimes I like to get a little more creative. There's actually an ENTIRE chapter of VitaTop recipes in Hungry Girl 200 Under 200 -- most of them involving chocolate Vitas! But there are also some great recipes calling for chocolatey VitaTops right here on the HG site. Check out some of my favorite ways to enjoy the Vitas, when you're craving something outside of the box... err, not out of the box... oh, you know what I mean!

Hot Couple! Best Ice Cream Sandwich Ever
- You're just two ingredients away from a giant, fiber-packed ice cream sandwich with 150 calories. Although, since you already have the Vitas, you're only ONE ingredient away!

Ooey Gooey German Chocolate Trifle - To answer your (unasked) question, yes... This IS as good as it sounds

Another Hot Couple! "Top That!" Freezy Vita - This one calls for a Triple Chocolate Chunk Vita, but you can totally make it with any chocolate V-Top. Promise!

Double-Trouble Chocolate Trifle - Our original chocolate trifle! It's kind of absurd how good it is...

As-Seen-on-TV Hot Couple! Freezy-Cool Whoopie Pie - This treat made its TV debut on Rachael Ray; then it popped up on the Joy Behar Show with guest host Valerie Bertinelli... This recipe is FAMOUS and DELICIOUS!

Mr. Puffy Pumpkinhead Freezy-Cool Whoopie Pie - A seasonal take on our whoopie pie, this pumpkin-infused recipe rocks hard!

Enjoy, and don't forget to keep checking your HG emails for free-shipping specials on VitaTops. Woohoo!
