Dear Hungry Girl,

I am a HUGE fan of your drink recipes. At a martini bar recently, I had a "Thin Mint" martini. It tasted just like the Girl Scout Cookie and even came with a cookie garnish! Any ideas on how I could make a Hungry Girl version of this drink? I'm sure it contains many, many calories! Thanks for all you do. Cannot wait to get your new book!

Hooray for male HG fans! WOOHOO!!! Glad you're excited for the new book -- Hungry Girl Supermarket Survival just hit shelves yesterday! But to answer your question, I do have some ideas for a swap. In fact, you inspired me to get in the kitchen and whip up a full-blown recipe. Check it out!

HG's ChocoMint Martini
PER SERVING (1/2 of recipe, 1 martini): 145 calories, 0g fat, 90mg sodium, 7g carbs, 0.5g fiber, 4.5g sugars, 1g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Ingredients:
1 packet hot cocoa mix with 20 - 25 calories (like Swiss Miss Diet or Nestlé Fat Free)
1 no-calorie sweetener packet (like Splenda or Truvia)
2 tbsp. Cool Whip Free, thawed
1 tbsp. light chocolate syrup
3 oz. vodka
2 drops peppermint extract
Optional garnish: chocolate graham crackers

Directions:

In a tall glass, combine cocoa mix and sweetener with 2 ounces (1/4 cup) hot water, and stir to dissolve. Add Cool Whip and chocolate syrup, and stir until smooth.

Add vodka, peppermint extract, and 2 ounces (1/4 cup) cold water to the glass. Transfer mixture to a shaker filled with ice.

Shake, shake, shake, and then strain into two martini glasses. Serve with chocolate graham crackers, if you like, and enjoy!

MAKES 2 SERVINGS

Each individual graham cracker (1/4th of a sheet) adds about 15 calories... Not bad! Hi HG,

I work a variety of different shifts, and sometimes I don't get home for dinner until 1 a.m. or later! What suggestions do you have for quick late-night dinners that won't wake up my husband and will fill me up before bed? I'm trying to avoid the late-night gut. Thanks!

That's tough, truly, but I've got some suggestions to help you deal with that crazy schedule of yours... Here they are now!

If you want something warm, the slow cooker is your friend. Just throw in the ingredients before work. You can even time it so your husband has dinner when he's hungry, and then you've got leftovers to reheat later. Cheeseburger Mac Attack is an HG family-friendly favorite. And this saucy pulled-pork recipe is one of my husband's top picks -- it's amazing!

Get to know some no-cook recipes. They're quick 'n easy, and you don't have to worry about waking up your husband with food-cooking smells and beeping timers. Check out our latest sans-heat recipes, and click here for an entire email of cool slaws and salads. Many of these can be made in the afternoon and eaten later on...

Feed your need for speed.

Keep a stash of go-to frozen meals.
If you're ever stuck and don't have ingredients on hand (or the energy to make anything!), microwavable meals are the way to go. Try to stick with ones that have around 350 calories and no more than 10 grams of fat each -- then bulk 'em up with frozen veggies.
