Hi Diane,

Dr. Oz ROCKS... I had so much fun on his show! (If anyone reading this didn't see the segment, click here to watch it.) The recipe that I made is a protein-packed and veggie-loaded spin on my famous Fettuccine Hungry Girlfredo. It's super-easy and super-delicious. Check it out...

Shrimptastic Fettuccine Hungry Girlfredo

PER SERVING (entire recipe): 210 calories, 5g fat, 550mg sodium, 13g carbs, 5g fiber, 2.5g sugars, 24.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Ingredients:
1 bag House Foods Tofu Shirataki Fettuccine Shaped Noodle Substitute (found with the tofu and refrigerated Asian products)
1 tsp. reduced-fat sour cream
1/2 tsp. chopped garlic
1 wedge The Laughing Cow Light Creamy Swiss cheese
1 cup chopped spinach leaves
1/2 cup frozen broccoli florets, thawed
3 oz. frozen ready-to-eat medium shrimp, thawed
2 tsp. reduced-fat Parmesan-style grated topping
Optional seasonings: salt, black pepper

Directions:
Use a strainer to rinse and drain noodles. Thoroughly pat dry. Roughly cut noodles.

Bring a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium heat. Add noodles, sour cream, garlic, and cheese wedge, breaking the wedge into pieces. Cook and stir until cheese has melted, mixed with sour cream, and coated noodles.

Stir in all remaining ingredients. Cook and stir until spinach has wilted and dish is hot, 2 - 3 minutes. Eat!

A girlfriend and I are planning our annual spring-break road trip, and I know we'll get hungry and snack in the car. What are some yummy guilt-free snacks we can take along to keep us from chewing the wrong thing?

Sounds like it's gonna be a fun trip! And planning ahead is key, so you're on the right track. To help you out, I'm sharing TONS of snack ideas. Read on...

Pack plenty of true hunger-busters. You don't want to wind up endlessly munching on things that aren't filling. So stock up on protein-packed snacks that will hold up well in the car. Jerky is one of my favorites -- totally underrated -- because it's a protein-fest and it's delicious. It's also surprisingly low in fat and calories. Click here to check out a few of my favorite kinds of jerky. I also like snack bars with less than 200 calories and a nice amount of fiber and protein, like many of the ones by Luna and KIND. Nuts are great too, but it's important to stick with a single serving. Which brings me to my next point...

Portion it out ahead of time. There's nothing worse on a road trip than giant bags of chips and cookies. (Okay, fine... A flat tire would be worse.) Don't want to spend the money on pre-packaged 100-calorie snacks? DIY! Here's a guide to help.

Stock a small cooler with cold drinks to help you stay hydrated. It's easy to confuse thirst for hunger, so try sipping something before you turn to food. If bottled water is too boring for you, stash some sugar-free powdered drink mix packets (like Crystal Light and True Lemonade) and low-calorie fruity drinks (like Vitaminwater Zero and Aquafina FlavorSplash). But leave some room in that cooler...

Pack cut fruit and veggies. I like pre-cut options because you don't have to find a place to trash that apple core or orange rind. Avoid sticky fruits and go for things like grapes and melon. As for veggies, baby carrots and sugar snap peas are perfect when you need something crunchy.

Don't forget the craving-killers.
Don't get lured in by that billboard advertising the world's biggest and best pie slices. Hard candies, lollipops (I LOVE Tootsie Pops -- just 60 calories each!), and sugar-free gum in dessert-inspired flavors are great options. They'll keep your mouth busy (so you won't chew other things when you're not really hungry), and they're perfect for squashing a craving for sweets.
