Here at the HG HQ, we LOVE Panera Bread -- so many great options!!! Like most places, there are plenty of nutritional duds lurking on the menu, but we're focusing on the good stuff since there's SO much of it! Here's everything you need to know before visiting Panera Bread. Enjoy!

 
  The Hidden Menu!!!


This incredible secret menu is packed with low-carb/high-protein power foods. You won't find these offerings on in-store menu boards (that's the "hidden" part!), but you can get 'em at any Panera location...

Power Breakfast Egg White Bowl with Roasted Turkey
1 bowl: 170 calories, 4.5g fat, 500mg sodium, 5g carbs, 1g fiber, 2g sugars, 28g protein -- PointsPlus® value 4*

Here we have spinach, roasted peppers, and basil pesto with egg whites and turkey. Light, but loaded with protein.

Power Breakfast Egg Bowl with Steak

  The Bakery Rundown...


Best Bagel Choices: A Plain one (290 calories, 1.5g fat, 2g fiber, PointsPlus® value 8*) or a Whole Grain one (340 calories, 2.5g fat, 6g fiber, PointsPlus® value 9*). HG tip: Scoop out some of the insides to save starchy calories and still get that bagel fix!

Worst Bagel Choice: The Cinnamon Crunch, with 420 calories and 6g fat (PointsPlus® value 11*). Not worth it!

Cream Cheese FYI: There are tons of reduced-fat cream cheese options: Hazelnut, Honey Walnut, Plain, Wild Blueberry, Chive & Onion, and Roasted Vegetable Medley. Each has 55 - 75 calories and 4.5 - 6g fat per ounce (PointsPlus® value 1 - 2*). Watch out for the original Plain, though -- an ounce has 95 calories and 9g fat (PointsPlus® value 3*)! BTW, an ounce of cream cheese is about 2 tablespoons. Request "just a schmear" to cut calories and fat!

Small-Sized Sweets: Your best bets are the Petite Chocolate Chipper (110 calories, 6g fat, PointsPlus® value 3*), Strawberries & Cream Mini Scone (140 calories, 7g fat, PointsPlus® value 4*), and Wild Blueberry Mini Scone (160 calories, 7g fat, PointsPlus® value 4*).
