HG Alternative: Can't find 80-calorie light hamburger buns? Try a 100-calorie flat sandwich bun, like an Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat Sandwich Thin!

A beefy patty, seasoned to perfection and oozing with cheese... It's like we conjured this up in our dreams. But we didn't! Someone in Minnesota did; we just HG-ified it... LUCKY YOU!!!

Ingredients:
1 light hamburger bun (or HG Alternative)
1 slice fat-free American cheese
4 oz. raw extra-lean ground beef
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. each salt and black pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickle slices

Directions:
Split bun into halves. Chop or tear cheese into small pieces.

In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into a ball, and make a large hollow indentation with your thumb (past the center but not all the way through).

Fill hole with the cheese pieces and squeeze meat to seal, enclosing the cheese. Flatten slightly into a thick patty.

Bring a skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium-high heat. Cook patty for 4 - 8 minutes per side, until cooked to your preference. Meanwhile, cook onion in the skillet until browned, about 5 minutes.

Place cooked onion on the bottom bun half, and top with cooked patty. Finish with the top of the bun. Bite in!
