Married to the Cobb!

Like the Quiznos version, our chicken wrap is packed with bacon, blue cheese, and more delicious items. How does ours differ? It doesn't contain a gazillion calories. (Okay, fine, gazillion is hyperbole; see the right column for Q's actual calorie count.) Bring on the slimmed-down recipe!

Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 5 minutes or less

Ingredients:
2 tbsp. light sour cream
1/2 tsp. ranch dressing/dip seasoning mix
1 tbsp. crumbled blue cheese
3 oz. cooked and chopped skinless chicken breast
3 tbsp. chopped tomato
1 tbsp. precooked real crumbled bacon (like the kind by Oscar Mayer)
1 medium-large high-fiber flour tortilla with 110 calories or less (like the kinds by La Tortilla Factory)
1/2 cup chopped romaine lettuce

Directions:
In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, ranch seasoning, and 1 tsp. water. Mix until uniform. Stir in blue cheese. Add chicken, tomato, and bacon, and stir to coat.

Microwave tortilla on a microwave-safe plate for 10 seconds, or until warm.

Place lettuce in the center of the tortilla, and top with chicken mixture. Wrap tortilla up by first folding in one side (to keep filling from escaping) and then tightly rolling it up from the bottom. (Or fold in both sides, burrito-style.) Enjoy!

Sob Salad…

Two common foods with health halos? Salads and wraps. They seem so innocent, yet both can be calorie terrors -- the first due to fattening toppings, and the latter because of oversized tortillas (among other things). Well, this salad-inspired wrap is one dubious disaster! Traditional Cobb salad is quite the troublemaker -- bacon, eggs, blue cheese, creamy dressing... One of the only redeeming qualities is the lettuce. So when you remove a fair amount of those greens and stuff everything else in a big tortilla, the whole affair gets out of control. No good! But don't worry... We remedied the situation with our own guilt-free swap. Lean bacon, a high-fiber tortilla, and a DIY creamy condiment keep things nice and light. (We skipped the hard-boiled egg bits... Our wrap was stuffed enough without 'em!) So the next time you're craving a bacon-blue-cheese-chicken wrap, do yourself a favor and stick with our recipe, 'kay?
