This Week's 3 Things You Need to Know

Hot search trend: Comfort food + veggies.

Comfort food never goes out of style, but an interesting pattern has emerged: Recent Pinterest analysis shows that people are pinning more and more comfort food made with veggies. Not only that, but according to a study commissioned by Foster Farms, 58 percent reported an interest in carb swapping with cauliflower and zucchini noodles. Are you in that 58 percent? Good, because you've got to try our spiralized zucchini recipes and cauliflower rice dishes. Comfort food to the max!

Healthy food chain Freshii opens locations in select Target stores.

You know how some Targets have a Starbucks in the front part of the store? Now select Target locations are getting Freshii kiosks as well! As you might guess from the name, the chain's menu focuses on fresh fare like salads, bowls, wraps, soups, and smoothies. The Freshii website currently lists locations in just Illinois and Minnesota, but we've personally spotted one here in sunny California. Keep an eye out...

Citrus fruits could help prevent obesity-related disease.

Need a reason to increase your fruit consumption? Check this out. A new study found that citrus flavanones (a class of antioxidants) may help cut back the harmful effects of obesity; specifically, heart disease, liver disease, and diabetes. Impressive! So the next time you're at the store, grab a bag of tangerines for snacking or some lemons to squeeze into your water.

Chew on this:

Hooray for More Herbs, Less Salt Day (which is today, August 29th). These White Pizza Wonton Crunchers and Chicken Bruschetta Stuffed Tomatoes are full of fresh basil flavor, and they're completely addictive!
