Yasso, as in "Ya, SO GOOD!"
Spotted on Shelves...

New Flavors! Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars - Hold on to your taste buds! The new flavors of Yasso's protein-packed sweet treats are Chocolate Fudge, Sea Salt Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Raspberry, and Peanut Butter Cup. We tried them and, YES, they're as good as they sound. Each bar has 100 - 130 calories, 0 - 6g fat, 45 - 130mg sodium, 13 - 18g carbs, 0 - 1g fiber, 10 - 16g sugars, and 5 - 7g protein (PointsPlus® value 2 - 3*). Click to locate!

Bare Fruit 100% Natural Crunchy Apple Chips - From the classic Fuji Red to kicked-up flavors like Sea Salt Caramel (!!!), these crispy fruit chips are WAY fun! A 1-oz. serving (about 1/2 cup) has 90 - 100 calories, 0g fat, 10 - 90mg sodium, 26 - 27g carbs, 3 - 4g fiber, 21 - 23g sugars, and 0g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). Click here to see where they're sold, and then go and get 'em...

French's Sooo Creamy & Light Mild Mustard Blend - The doors rattled and a hush fell over Hungryland... A new creamy mustard had rolled in to challenge Dijonnaise! French's Classic Yellow Mustard meets mayo's creaminess, for just 10 calories, 0g fat, 60mg sodium, 2g carbs, and 1g sugars per teaspoon (PointsPlus® value 0*). There's always room in our fridge for another no-guilt condiment. Available at Walmart and select Target locations.

New Light Options at Chain Restaurants (Plus a Chili's Shocker!)

Friendly's Under 565 Calories Menu - Friendly's added a few new picks to its light menu, and we've got our eye on the Turkey Tip Avocado Salad. Skip the recommended blue cheese dressing (the turkey is marinated in fat-free Italian dressing, and the salad already has blue cheese crumbles), and it'll have 420 calories and 16g fat (PointsPlus® value 9*). Heads up: Most of these items have under 565 calories only when the sauce or dressing is left off, so order carefully!

Applebee's Improved Kids' Menu - The updated kiddo menu features 10 meal combos that meet the National Restaurant Association's Kids LiveWell nutritional criteria. Excellent! And although it didn't technically make the cut, we'd totally order the 120-calorie vanilla yogurt with strawberries for dessert...

FAKER ALERT! Chili's New Fresh Mex Bowls - Each of these seemingly virtuous bowls contains an alarming 920 - 1,040 calories and 31 - 60g fat! If you're feeling the layered Fresh Mex vibe, DIY with the Chicken Fajitas. Skip the tortillas and standard condiments -- have your poultry and veggies over shredded lettuce, and top with salsa. Only around 400 calories and 13g fat (PointsPlus® value 10*). YUM!

Changes Coming to Nutrition Facts Labels
The Labels, They Are
Nutrition Facts Labels Are HOW Old? THE FDA Wants an Upgrade!

What we know about nutrition has changed a lot since 1994, which is when the current nutrition facts panel went into effect. Yup, those labels are 20 years old! According to the Associated Press, the FDA has just sent guidelines for new labels to the White House. Here are a few buzzed-about possible changes we can definitely get behind...

Updated servings per container and serving sizes. You know those packages that are CLEARLY meant to be consumed in one sitting, but list 2 or 3 servings per container? No more of that. The recommended serving sizes may also change for certain foods in order to be more realistic. YAY!!!

Removing the "calories from fat" listing. When was the last time you checked that number? Seriously. We look at nutrition facts ALL DAY, and we don't even check that. The total fat, fat breakdown, and percentage of the daily value are all the fat stats we need.

More prominent calorie count. With all of the figures and percentages that make up the current labels (like, ahem, the above listing), it's easy to overlook this very important number! We love the idea of making it as easy as possible to read.

While there's no telling if and when these updates would be made, we'll be (impatiently) waiting...
