This Week’s 3 Things You Need to Know…

Study suggests limiting your sodium intake might not be necessary.

We've always been taught to be wary of sodium, but a worldwide study recently found that low-salt diets might not be beneficial for everyone. The findings suggest that while salt reduction is important for those who suffer from high blood pressure, there's no harm associated with increased sodium intake for people who don't. Researchers also noted that average salt consumption may be safer than strict low-sodium diets when it comes to risk of heart attacks and strokes. Good to know, before you go to extremes...

Starbucks iced coffee just got a major upgrade.

Introducing Nitro Cold Brew: It's on-tap java that's mixed with nitrogen for a rich taste and a texture similar to dark beer. Yum! An unsweetened Tall (12-oz.) has just 5 calories. It's currently available in Seattle stores, and it's hitting more major cities this summer. Another new addition to the "cold bar" menu -- this one already available nationwide -- is the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. A Tall has 100 calories and a SmartPoints® value of 5*. There's also the regular Cold Brew Coffee with just 5 calories for the unsweetened variety. Hooray for high-quality iced coffee drinks!

Finally... A fanny-pack alternative you won't be embarrassed to wear.

Most old-school hip pouches scream "Mom at Disneyland, circa 1988," so this streamlined alternative from PakRat totally grabbed our attention. It's the ultimate carrying case for your phone, cash, keys, and more! The load-n-fold design is pretty brilliant: comfortable, practical, and totally flattering. Perfect for traveling, walking, workouts... any time you don't want to lug around a purse! Order one over at Amazon.
