Lisanatti Foods The Original Almond Cheeze - Our love for this cheese alternative has nothing to do with "Lisa" being the first part of the company name and EVERYTHING to do with the product's total deliciousness! In Cheddar, Mozzarella, Jalapeno Jack, and Garlic & Herb styles, a 1-oz. serving of the 97% fat-free cheese alternative has 50 calories, 1g fat, 190mg sodium, 3g carbs, 1g fiber, 0g sugars, and 7g protein (PointsPlus® value 1*). So good! Find it at natural foods stores and select markets...

Flatout EdgeOn Baked Flatbread Crisps - When you're looking for snack foods, "edgy" might not be at the top of the list of criteria you consider. But these zig-zaggy crackers are full of yummy grains and good-for-you omega 3s, and they taste fantastic. In Gimmemore Multigrain, Ibrakefor Four Cheese, and Gowildfer Garlic Herb, you get about 15 chips for 120 - 130 calories, 4 - 4.5g fat, 240 - 330mg sodium, 15 - 16g carbs, 5g fiber, 1g sugars, and 6g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). P.S. There's a Sea Salt variety, too, but it's not full of fiber and omegas like the others. Click to locate...

New Flavors! Special K Bars
- The two latest flavors in Special K's line of 90-calorie cereal bars -- Raspberry Cheesecake and Chocolatey Chip Cookie -- sound SO incredibly good. Each dessert-inspired treat has 90 calories, 1.5 - 2g fat, 75 - 100mg sodium, 17 - 18g carbs, 3g fiber, 7 - 8g sugars, and <1g protein (PointsPlus® value *2). We can't wait to try 'em!

Bitty Bites!

Good News for Corn Dog Lovers!
To say we were distraught when Morningstar Farms discontinued its super-delicious meatless corn dogs would be an understatement. So when we got word that both the full-sized pups AND the minis are headed back to supermarkets, we flipped! In fact, we are STILL flipping. (You just can't see us.) Keep your eyes and mouths open for the triumphant return of MF's Corn Dogs -- let us know if you start seeing them around! And if you can't wait 'til then, try making your own no-fry version with this snazzy corn dog maker... YUM!

No-Guilt Menu Newbies... from Steak to Spirits!
Just because calorie counts are popping up on restaurant menus everywhere, that doesn't mean all the items are diet-friendly options. Luckily, there are two tasty new entrées on the Applebee's Under 550 Calories Menu: Signature Sirloin with Garlic Herb Shrimp and Teriyaki Shrimp Pasta. WHAT? Surf 'n turf for a calorie bargain?! Amazing! Plus, the chain's line of SkinnyBee cocktails now includes 90-calorie mojitos and 110-calorie Long Island iced teas! And if you're lucky enough to live near a Dunkin' Donuts location, check out the new varieties of the Egg White Wake-up Wrap -- Turkey Sausage and Veggie -- for only 150 calories each. Chow time!

Ring In the New Year with Grocery Deals!
The folks at Amazon know that this is the time of year when everyone and their brother/sister/aunt/stepchild/etc. decide to try taking better care of themselves. So they're helping out by putting a bunch of their guilt-free goods on discount. Poke around and stock up -- we're eyeing the boxes of KIND Bars, packs of Activate Drinks, Annie Chun's Soup Bowls, and 6-packs of Fiber One cereal!

The Buzz...

HEADS UP! Following Hungry Girl's big debut on Cooking Channel this past weekend, we're THRILLED to flaunt our very special website dedicated to the TV show. Recipes! Product recommendations! Episode pages for all 13 episodes will continue to roll out during the season. Browse around and get comfy, people... This site ROCKS! ***Have you heard about new Snickers Peanut Butter Squared? Sure, it's candy, but we just want to point out that the 2-square pack has 250 calories and 13g fat. That's less than the original bar, AND the split design makes it easier to share; a single square has a PointsPlus® value of 3*. Wanna go halvsies? ***Oh my. A recent Consumer Reports health poll quizzed adults about their eating habits. Ninety percent of those polled classify their diets as somewhat, very, or extremely healthy... Yet only about 50 percent limit their sweets or fat intake. Hmmm... Click here to read more. ***Spoon your way to your weight-loss resolutions! Go to Progresso's Facebook page, declare what you like about the brand's 100-calorie-or-less soups and why you deserve a makeover, and POOF! You're entered into the Souper You Debut Contest, which could win you a weekend of makeover fun in NYC, complete with a shopping spree and spending cash. Oooh... DO IT NOW! (Deadline 3/16/11.) ***Coffee companies are continuing their own improvements... Starbucks is adding to its awesome line of instant coffee packets with "intense and smoky" French Roast VIA, available at SB stores and online (YAAAY!). Not to be outdone, Coffee Bean's debuting a gorgeous and futuristic-looking single-cup brewer for at-home java. It kinda looks like a coffeemaker the Jetsons would use -- the blue one is like Rosie's baby robot! That's all we've got. HG out!

CHEW ON THIS:

Today, January 10th, is National Bittersweet Chocolate Day. Hmmm, we're more into the semi-sweet stuff -- did you know you can have four teaspoons of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips for about 100 calories? YOU CAN!
