Kraft Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits - The hottest thing to hit marshmallows? Extreme miniaturization! These perfect-for-hot-chocolate 'mallows are slightly crunchy, like the ones you find in cereal and cocoa packets. In both Vanilla and Peppermint, a 2-tbsp. serving has just 20 calories, 5g carbs, and 4g sugars (PointsPlus® value 1*). We can't wait to use them in all kinds of new desserts and cocoa drinks. They're just rolling out now in select stores nationwide (we spotted ours at Target), so be on the lookout!

Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets - It can be hard to keep your inner child (or actual child) away from tasty tidbits like chicken nuggets. But with the impressive stats of these natural nibbles, there's no need to abstain. A 7-nugget serving has 180 calories, 9g fat, 210mg sodium, 12g carbs, 0g fiber, 0g sugars, and 12g protein (PointsPlus® value 5*). Grab a bag from the freezer aisle at your local market, and pick up some guilt-free dipping sauce while you're at it.

Special K Granola Bars - Our pals at The K are no strangers to the bar scene, but these chewy granola bars are brand-new. They're loaded with oaty goodness and zazzled up with decadent flavors. Choose Dark Chocolate or Chocolatey Peanut Butter... or BOTH. Each bar has 110 calories, 3g fat, 85mg sodium, 17g carbs, 4g fiber, 7g sugars, and 4g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). Find 'em with the other granola bars at the store... then eat them!

The Hunger Claims!

Sure, when you get hungry, your tummy starts to rumble. But your stomach isn't the only factor in your hunger. First, it can start with your eyes. This may seem like a "duh" statement, but now there is scientific proof that production of a primary hunger hormone can increase after simply looking at pictures of food. (This explains a lot to us here at Hungry Girl!) Wanna know what else can cause cravings, this time for fatty food in particular? According to new research, it turns out that genetics could be responsible; some of us actually taste and respond to fat more than others. Further research is needed to determine the impact this might have on obesity. And of course, your brain controls it all... but there may be a way to outsmart the brain! A new study tested the activity level of certain hunger-related neurons during fasting. Although fasting generally triggers neurons that promote feeding, the data showed that eliminating the receptors to those neurons led to less food consumption. Whoa! We're not fans of fasting, but we wouldn't mind a little help when trying to put down the bag of potato chips. Guess hunger is more complicated than we thought...

Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Smoothies
- The company behind the first Greek fro-yo bars now has ready-to-blend smoothie kits. These smoothies are fat-free and all-natural, AND they have 4g fiber per serving. When prepared with skim milk, each 8-ounce serving has 110 - 120 calories (PointsPlus® value 3*). We wonder how they'd taste made with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze... Click to locate!

Yoplait Lactose Free 99% Fat Free Yogurt - Do you say no to lactose? You can say yes to this yogurt -- it tastes REALLY good! Available in Strawberry, French Vanilla, Peach, and Cherry, it has 170 calories and 1.5g fat per 6-ounce container (PointsPlus® value 4*). Who needs that lactose anyway?

YoCrunch Pie Parfaits - Yogurt that tastes like pie is a fantastic concept. Yogurt that tastes like pie AND includes a layer of fruity "filling" and a yummy crust-like topping?! Ridiculous in the best possible way. These parfaits come with gooey fruit on the bottom (Apple, Cherry, or Triple Berry), fat-free vanilla yogurt, and a special topping (Cinna-Crunch or Crumble Crust) to sprinkle over it all. Each 4-oz. serving with topping has 120 calories and 1 - 2g fat (PointsPlus® value 3*). We need these at the HG HQ stat...

The Buzz...

We like our oats all kinds of ways (even cold in parfaits)... but we've never SIPPED them. Get this -- Sneaky Pete's Naturally Oatstanding Beverage has only 40 calories, no fat, and 3 grams of fiber per 12-oz. bottle, and it comes in some fun flavors. Look for these in stores next month, or click to order some online... We're intrigued! ***Look who's getting sensible! Mars -- the company behind treats like Twix, Milky Way, and Snickers -- has announced that it will stop making chocolate products with more than 250 calories by the end of 2013. WOW! Good-bye, king-size candy bars -- don't let the door hit you in the nuts on the way out... ***Like your cereal boxes old-school? Lucky you -- another batch of General Mills' adorable retro cereal boxes are back. This time, the limited-edition box designs are from the '80s. Grab a spoon and put on an old episode of Fraggle Rock. ***Gotta have sweets? A new study suggests that it could be best to get your sugar fix out of the way in the morning! Results from a 32-week study show that participants who added dessert to their breakfast lost 40 pounds more on average than the group that avoided sweets... even though all the participants consumed the same number of daily calories. Plus, the sweets-eaters kept off the weight. Interesting! ***Would you request a smaller portion when placing a food order? Probably not, but you might take a smaller serving if it were offered to you. A study at Duke University found that when fast-food customers were asked if they wanted to "downsize" their starchy side dishes, 14 to 33 percent accepted the offer. The average reduction in intake was more than 200 calories per meal. Nice! And that's all we've got. HG out!
