No Freezer-Burn for Boca!
Spotted On Shelves...
Boca Meatless Ground Crumbles in a Re-sealable Bag - Ground-beef-style soy crumbles are an HG staple. And we enjoy Boca's version as well as the kind by Morningstar Farms. Boca's are lower in fat, but M. Star's are easier to find. Well, Boca has just come out with new packaging for their ground beef substitute -- instead of boxes of 2-serving pouches labeled Meatless Ground Burger, Boca's stuff now comes in re-sealable multi-serving bags labeled Meatless Ground Crumbles. Granted, it's a slow day in HG-land when we're super-excited about this, but WE ARE! YAY, BOCA! WOOHOO! (And yes, we hope things pick up around here soon.)
Jack Link's Premium Cuts 50 Calorie Snack Packs - You know we get all giddy over jerky. And yeah, it's pretty low in fat and calories as is. But these new 50-calorie pouches are PERFECT. Each pack of Original Beef Jerky has 0.5g fat, 2g carbs, 0g fiber, and 9g protein (POINTS® value 1*). We hear the 50-cal packs also come in Teriyaki Nuggets and Prime Rib Tender Cuts. These packs give you just the right amount to satisfy plus they have that protein boost you need. Embrace jerky, people!
Gerber Graduates Fruit Twists - Yup, on occasion we like to snack on fruit snacks meant for babies and toddlers. We even use the stuff in our recipes sometimes. Make fun of us, point and laugh behind our backs... do what you need to do to get it out of your system. This stuff is GOOD and we're NOT giving it up. Enjoy these new Twizzler-ish items in two flavors -- Strawberry & Grape and Apple & Strawberry. Each Twist contains 35 calories, 0g fat, 8g carbs, 0g fiber, and 0g protein (POINTS® value 1*). We're (goo goo) gaga for 'em!
Coming Soon to a Supermarket Near You...
Psssst! We've heard about some new stuff that's on the way. And we're not great at keeping secrets...
Hostess 100 Calorie Packs, Twinkie Bites - No, they aren't any "healthier" than regular Twinkies, but these new 100-calorie packs of Twinkie Bites are going to make A LOT of humans happy. This much we know. You get three cute little Twinkie cakes (they're round!) per pack for just 100 calories and 2.5g fat (POINTS® value 2*). Sadly, there's no real fiber to speak of (<1g), but what did you expect? THEY'RE TWINKIES! Look for 'em starting in November.
Secret Frappuccino Light Drinks - If you're a fan of Starbucks' ready-to-drink line of beverages, you'll be happy to hear that the folks at The 'Bucks are planning to add a bunch of new ones to their current line-up. Unfortunately, they're being VERY hush-hush about these drinks. All we know is that the new drinks will be light, Frappuccino-y, and on shelves next year. Currently, SB's only low-cal Fraps on shelves are their Mocha Lite Frappuccinos. We look forward to seeing what they come up with. How's about a 100-calorie version of your Caramel Frappuccino, Starbucks? We DARE you to make one of those!
Look... Cute Little Twinkie Nuggets!
Ooooh, Fancy... and INSULATED!

A new study suggests that collagen proteins found in chicken and chicken soup could actually lower blood pressure. Unfortunately, the incredibly high levels of sodium found in most canned chicken soup are likely to counteract this benefit. So if you have high blood pressure, avoid the canned stuff.
