Wow! An excellent question that surprisingly few people ask. OK, just a heads up: I'm going to get a little technical here. Don't be frightened, this is important stuff. The best way to keep from feeling hungry is to, well, eat! The trick is to eat diet-friendly foods that fill you up. Your best bets are anything with lots of fiber (fiber makes you full) and also foods with a low Glycemic Index. Foods with a low GI (under 55) produce a gradual rise in blood sugar. High GI foods make blood sugar and insulin levels spike fast. Even more relevant to your specific problem, foods that have a high GI can make you hungry again in no time, while foods with a low GI keep you feeling fuller longer. Low GI foods include: light yogurt, peaches, veggies, lean meats, legumes and low and non-fat cheese. High GI foods are things like pretzels, baked potatoes and bagels. Eat up -- just be smart about it!
