Hole-y Bite-Sized Bagels, Batman!
Hole-y Bite-Sized Bagels, Batman!
Spotted On Shelves...

Little Lender's Bagels - Thanks to our bagel-baking pals at Lender's, you can now have holey bread items in all different sizes and calorie counts. There are Little Lender's (70 calories and a PointsPlus® value of 2* each), Lender's 100 Calorie (PointsPlus® value of 3* each), and Lender's Mini Bagels (140 - 160 calories and a PointsPlus® value of 4* each). The itty-bitty 70-calorie ones are adorable, but chances are you'll wanna pop a bunch at a time, so be warned! Look for the Little and 100 Calorie ones in the fridge section, and find the Minis with the shelf-stable bread products.

GNC be-Nourished Nutritional Bars - The bar market is overcrowded, for sure, but these new 140-calorie offerings from GNC are REALLY good. We've tried the Chocolate Soy Crisp, Cinnamon Almond Crunch, and Peanut Caramel Crisp -- thumbs up to all those flavors, but the Cinnamon Almond Crunch rocks the most. With 3.5 - 4g fat and 14 - 17g carbs, each one packs in 2 - 3g fiber and 10 - 12g protein. Impressive!!!

Mishima Clear Noodle Soup - It may be too hot outside to write about soup, but this particular SOUP is way too hot to NOT write about. In Miso/Soy Bean Paste, Szechwan Style/Spicy Sesame Paste, Teriyaki Soy Sauce Flavor, and Thai Style/Tom Yam Kung Flavor, each container of this just-add-water instant soup has only about 90 - 100 calories, 0 - 2g fat, 18 - 21g carbs, and 2 - 3g protein. Just an FYI, they're a bit high in sodium. We're not sure if these have saturated markets nationally yet, but we CANNOT wait until they do. In the meantime, they can be found at Japanese markets. (Or click here to order online!) Run -- don't walk -- to the store and stock up on these glass-noodle-filled instant soup cups. TWO YUMS UP, PEOPLE!!!

The Buzz...

Big, BIG news, people. A brand-new version of the delicious Fiber One Yogurt is debuting next month. Same amazing flavors (and taste!), but with only 50 calories, zero grams of fat, and a whopping five grams of fiber per 4-oz. cup (PointsPlus® value 1*)! We've tried these and love them so much that they'll now feature Hungry Girl and our seal of approval ALL OVER the pack. They go into production this month, so expect to see them on store shelves soon! ***Know anyone who owns or manages a restaurant? Send them to Welltech Bistro, a company that will not only convince them it's important to provide nutritional info for customers, but it will also help them obtain that info and figure out the best ways to present it. WE HEART WELLTECH BISTRO and want to spread the word about it. Click here for more on that. And share the link with food-industry people EVERYWHERE. ***Want to take in fewer calories? Change a light bulb! According to one color-psychology expert, changing the bulb in your fridge from white to blue, giving your food a blue-ish tint, may very well cause your food to look less appetizing and result in you eating less. We don't make this stuff up; we just report it. Click to read more about this bizarre concept. ***Check out our latest video to hit the web! It's HG's Lisa throwing out the first pitch at an Oakland A's baseball game! (That catcher should've dove and caught the ball. Check it out and see if you agree.) ***Did you know cooking some veggies could actually cause them to become healthier?! Tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, spinach, and peppers are just SOME of the veggies that may be better for you if they're boiled or steamed. Click for the full story. And... that is ALL we've got for you this week. HG out!
