Pumpkin Shortage: ACK!
Our inbox has been FLOODED with emails lately about the fact that it is nearly impossible to find the regular 15-oz. cans of Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin on shelves. The HUGE cans are more readily available, but even those are becoming scarce. Where, oh where, is our beloved pumpkin?! HG subscribers (and one very concerned bunny) wanna know. We contacted our pals at Libby's (THE pumpkin people) to get the scoop, and here's what we unearthed. Due to bad weather, many of last year's pumpkins were deemed unacceptable, and so we're NOW feeling the effects of those unfortunate circumstances. The good news? Libby's promises to have normal-sized cans of pumpkin back on shelves by late September. Whew! In the meantime, scoop up those ginormous cans of the orange stuff before they're all gone, too. DO IT!!! Then whip up our Surprise, It's Pumpkin! Enchiladas, Yum Yum Brownie Muffins, and Complete & Utter Oatmeal INSANITY. Mmmmm! P.S. The 15-oz. can is equal to 1 3/4 cups. (Now you know!)
Orange YOU Hard to Find?!

That's right... read it again if you have to. POPCHIPS. And VITATOPS. A full year's supply! PLUS, we'll be paying CLOSE attention to who's telling tons of friends to sign up, and some of those people will win HG swag (like our limited-edition lunch totes and elusive tour tees!), guilt-free snacks, and exciting mystery prizes! Don't miss out... tell THE WORLD about HG, and you could soon find yourself making room in your freezer and pantry for all those Vitas and Popchips! (Don't worry; they won't send them all at once!)
Do fast walkers live longer than slow walkers? Maybe! Results of several long-term studies found that those who walk at a speed of about 3.1 miles per hour or faster were more than twice as likely to be alive after 10 years than those who walk at 0.9 miles per hour or slower. So speed it up! ***Score one for diet soda! For the first time ever, Mountain Dew is introducing a new flavor that will ONLY be available in a diet version. Diet Mountain Dew UltraViolet is now in stores, but only for a limited time. So if citrus soda spiked with a juicy berry burst sounds good to you, seek out this pretty purple stuff STAT. ***Attention, green tea drinkers! Did you know that adding a squeeze of citrus to your tea could boost the amount of free-radical fighters your body can actually absorb?Click here for more on that. ***Get ready for the next wave of sampling -- Peel 'n Taste! SunnyD is the first brand to test this new technology, which allows consumers to taste a product flavor by licking an edible film strip, right in the supermarket. Coolio! It's currently only at Food Lion stores, but we're hoping to see it in more markets soon. That's all we've got. HG out!
