A cross between Red Delicious and Virginia Ralls Genet, the Fuji originated in Fujisaki, Japan. And just so you know, it's not like we spun the mythical Wheel of Apples one day, landed on "Fuji," and claimed it as our favorite. We've tried ALL kinds of apples. Some are extra-sweet, some super-tart, some crunchy, some soft... Fujis have that perfect blend of all the things we like in an apple: crispness, a nice balance of sweet and tart, and the ability to work perfectly in just about any recipe (that calls for apples). GO, FUJIS!

Light or Low-Fat Caramel Apple Dip - This one's kind of a "duh" pairing, but it's too good NOT to mention. Who doesn't dream of slathering chunks of apple with gooey, creamy, dreamy caramel!?! Crazy LOONS, that's who!
Reduced-Fat Peanut Butter - PB and apples are a classic duo. Peanut butter is a little fat-and-calorie dense, though, even the reduced-fat kind. But a little can go a LONG way, so don't just go dunking your apple spears into a tub of nut butter! Smear a tablespoon of the fat-slashed kind over a medium apple's worth of slices, and you've got a deliciously filling super-snack for under 200 calories and about 6.25g fat. Sweet!
