Our original recipe swap for pigs in a blanket is beautiful in its simplicity... but what if you want to take it up a notch? We've got a couple of AMAZING variations -- one kinda fancy version and another that would be the toast of any brunch party. Lucky you!
Cheesy Pigs in Bacon Blankies

PER SERVING (1 pig in a blanket): 164 calories, 6.75g fat, 877mg sodium, 16g carbs, 0g fiber, 3.5g sugars, 10.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Since Laughing Cow Light makes EVERYTHING better, we couldn't resist spreading some inside these roll-ups. And the bacon... well, why not?

Ingredients:
4 portions (1/2 package) refrigerated Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent rolls (unprepared)
2 wedges The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss cheese
4 dashes garlic powder, or more to taste
4 hot dogs with about 40 calories and 1g fat or less each (Hebrew National 97% Fat Free is our fave!)
2 tbsp. precooked real crumbled bacon (like the kind by Oscar Mayer)
Optional: Dijonnaise, ketchup, salsa (for dipping)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray and set aside.

Slightly stretch or roll out one of the triangle-shaped portions of dough, forming a larger triangle. Evenly spread with half a wedge of cheese, and then sprinkle with a dash of garlic powder. Place hot dog along the base and gently, but firmly, roll it up. Squeeze the dough gently to ensure it is secure around the hot dog. Sprinkle 1/2 tbsp. bacon on your work surface and roll the dough-wrapped dog in it, so the bacon sticks to the outside; press any remaining bacon into the dough. Place on the baking sheet.

Repeat 3 times with remaining ingredients, so that you have 4 evenly spaced pigs in a blanket on the sheet.

Bake in the oven for about 12 - 14 minutes, until dough appears slightly browned and crispy.

Let cool slightly. If you like, dip your dog into one or more of the optional ingredients. Enjoy!

Early-Riser Pigs in a Blanket

PER SERVING (2 pigs in a blanket with 2 tbsp. syrup): 185 calories, 7.75g fat, 590mg sodium, 21.5g carbs, 2g fiber, 3.5g sugars, 10.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

They say the early pig gets the blanket! Wait... no, they don't. We can never keep those idioms straight. Awww, who cares? Just enjoy these b-fast treats!

Ingredients:
8 meatless sausage-style breakfast links with about 40 calories each (like the kind by Boca or MorningStar Farms), thawed if frozen
4 portions (1/2 package) refrigerated Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent rolls (unprepared)
16 sprays zero-calorie butter spray (like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! Spray)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon, more or less to taste
1 tsp. powdered sugar
1/2 cup sugar-free pancake syrup

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray and set aside.

Slightly stretch or roll out one of the triangle-shaped portions of dough, forming a larger triangle. Cut it into 2 long narrow triangles. Beginning at the base of each triangle, roll a breakfast link up in the dough until the point of each triangle wraps around the center. Place both mini pigs on the baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.

Repeat 3 times with remaining ingredients, so that you have 8 evenly spaced pigs in a blanket on the sheet. Spray the tops evenly with butter spray, about 2 sprays per blanketed pig. Immediately sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake in the oven for 12 - 14 minutes, until dough appears slightly browned and crispy.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and then let cool slightly. Dip your piggies in syrup (or drizzle them with the stuff) and enjoy!

HG Heads Up! Each of these recipes uses half a package of crescent dough. Since that dough needs to be used soon after it's opened, make a double batch of one recipe or make a single batch of each. Then freeze any leftover pigs in a blanket for another day!
