It's hard to deny that the creamy texture of avocado makes just about everything more delicious. But some restaurants let their avo-topped burgers get WAY out of control in the calorie and fat departments. HG's A+ Avocado Burger is the way to go...
There are many reasons to love avocados: their amazing taste (of course), their impressive fiber content (about 2 grams per ounce), and the admirable array of vitamins (B6, C, K, folate...) they contain. Plus, the potassium helps to regulate blood pressure and the healthy fats are majorly beneficial. So how can burgers with some Swiss cheese and avocado on them be bad for you? They're STILL big fatty cheeseburgers! And they tend to have way too many other high-fat elements -- buttered buns, greasy bacon, creamy sauces... We say it's better to splurge on a good amount of that delicious avocado, and keep the rest simple: a meatless patty served on a slim bun with our favorite creamy cheese and lots of fresh veggies. Now THAT's a good burger! (Chew now; thank us later.)
