Buitoni Garden Vegetable  Sauce

THIS SAUCE IS BOSS

We never realized how much joy pasta sauce could bring us until we tried Buitoni Garden Vegetable sauce. Packed with huge chunks of fresh zucchini, tomatoes, summer squash and onions, it contains just 40 calories per serving, no fat and is perfect for making light pizzas, on pasta, in omelettes or straight from the container (trust us, it's great). FYI, this fresh tub of veggie goodness is found in the refrigerated section of your local market, not with the jarred sauces.

Prego Pasta Sauce with Fresh Mushrooms
TOSS THIS SAUCE

Prego's "made with fresh mushrooms" pasta sauce offers up only 1/2 a mushroom per half-cup serving but it manages to squeeze 120 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and 21 carbs in there. As far as sauces go it is fairly high in fat, calories and carbs...a triple whammy! Oh, it also has too much sugar and sodium. So, what could make this sauce even less appealing? Guess it could taste bad. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Bottom line, avoid this pasta-topper.

CHEW ON THIS:
Studies show that people who eat tomatoes and tomato products regularly are less likely to get cancer, coronary heart disease and other chronic illnesses. Tomatoes clearly rock!
