Dr. Praeger's Fillet Fish Sticks |
STAR FISH |
We know we're full-fledged Dr. Praeger groupies. And we're proud of that fact. But trust us, once you get a taste of his crisp and delicious fish sticks, you may become one, too. The good Doctor uses firm white fillets, and no fillers at all. Often frozen fish sticks end up soggy and disappointing. Not these golden, flaky creations. The best part is, you can have 4 of these crunchy critters for just 184 calories. Every once in a while you can even splurge, and pair 'em with a bag of Glenny's Spud Delites for guilt-free fish & chips. Weeeee! HG Warning: Resist the temptation to dunk these sensible sticks in gloppy, fat-filled tartar sauce. Available at select Whole Foods stores and online. |

Gorton's Fish Sticks |
CLOWN FISH |
Ah, fish sticks. Crunching them may make you feel nostalgic, but after a few bites you'll remember why you haven't indulged in them since you were a kid. These oil-soaked, fried, frozen items are the epitome of mediocre; not horrible, but certainly nothing great. And they'd have to be great to justify swallowing all the calories and fat they contain. We're sure that the Gorton's Fisherman is a nice enough fellow, and he does make some great grilled fillets, but when it comes to fish sticks, he's just missed the mark. The truth is, you don't need these deep sea disasters. After all, there are plenty of other, um, fish in the sea. |
