HOW NOW SKINNY COW?

Skinny Cow fans, listen up! The popular diet-friendly ice cream brand Silhouette is adding Skinny Carb ice cream sandwiches (7g of net carbs) to their line-up of frozen offerings.  The new treats will hit the shelves later this month. Moo-hoo!

HOT POTATO...

Good news if you're addicted to spuds but watching your carbs. The latest in the world of scientifically altered vegetables  is a low carbohydrate potato. The new yellow, waxy, smooth "Spud-U-Lite" contains 1/3 fewer carbs than regular potatoes, and according to the dutch company who created it, is "the future of the potato."  No word on when you'll actually get to chew one, but we'll certainly keep you informed of all breaking potato news...

WEIGHT WATCHERS SCORES POINTS

According to a new study, half of all dieters who reached their goal weight through Weight Watchers were at least 5 percent lighter than their original weight after five years. It may not sound all that impressive to you, but obesity experts  insist nearly all dieters eventually return to their old weight, and maintaining a 5 percent loss is definitely a health benefit. Way to go, WW!
WOW GETS A MAKEOVER

In an attempt to boost sales, Frito-Lay will re-introduce its Wow brand of chips under the name "Light."  Some experts say the low carb craze and declining interest in low fat foods are the cause of Wow's slumped sales, while others blame the use of the occasionally cramp-inducing ingredient Olestra.  In any case, neither the carb, fat or Olestra content of the chips will change -- only the packaging.  Confused?  Um, quite frankly, so are we.
