Chew & Tell: Campbell's Select Gold Label Soups

The new restaurant-quality soups from Campbell's are definitely more upscale than Campbell's canned soups.  They come in decadent, gourmet flavors and they taste fuller and fresher than canned soups.  We LOVE them, and the fact that you can eat the entire 2-serving container and still keep calorie counts down.  Check out our reviews...
Blended Red Pepper Black Bean

(1 cup - 110 cal, 1.5g fat, 820mg sodium,  21g carbs, 4g fiber, 9g sugar, 3g protein = 2 WW pts.)
 
What it is:  A thick soup made with red peppers, black beans, and tomatoes, seasoned with coriander, cumin and black pepper.

What we think of it: Yum!  This soup is like a delicious Mexican fiesta in a bowl.  It's thick, hearty and filling.  You can really taste the black beans in this soup...and we LOOOOVE black beans.

HG Tip:  This soup would be GREAT paired with a lowfat quesadilla!
Italian Tomato w/ Basil & Garlic

(1 cup - 90 cal, 0.5g fat, 820mg sodium, 19g carbs, 3g fiber, 13g sugar, 3g protein = 1 WW pt.)
 
What it is:  Tomato soup made with chunks of real tomatoes, basil, garlic and parmesan.

What we think of it:  This soup ROCKS!  It tastes the freshest of all the soups in the line, is a tiny bit sweet and it actually has fewer calories than many of the other Gold Label soups.

HG Tip:  Sprinkle some reduced fat parmesan on top to make this awesome soup even better!

Golden Butternut Squash

(1 cup - 90 cal, 1.5g fat, 750mg sodium, 17g carbs, 3g fiber, 7g sugar, 2g protein = 1 WW pt.)
 
What it is:  Butternut squash soup made with a hint of butter.

What we think of it:  This soup isn't bad, but we'd be lying if we said we weren't a bit disappointed with it.  It tasted a bit too potatoey and not butternut squashy enough for us. 

HG Advice:  If you love potato soup but tend to avoid it because it's high in calories, this might be a good swap for you.

Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato

(1 cup - 120 cal, 2g fat, 870mg sodium, 23g carbs, 4g fiber, 17g sugar, 3g protein = 2 WW pts.)
 
What it is:  Sweet roasted red peppers blended with tomatoes and chipotle peppers.

What we think of it:   This soup is good, but it definitely tastes saltier than all the others, and it has a very strong smoky flavor.  It's spicy and sweet at the same time (which we admire), and has nice chunks of peppers. 

HG Heads Up!  If you don't like extremely salty, flavorful soups, this one might be a bit too overpowering for you,

Creamy Portobello Mushroom


(1 cup - 100 cal, 4g fat, 790mg sodium, 14g carbs, 2g fiber, 2g sugar, 3g protein = 2 WW pts.)

What it is:  A delightful, creamy soup made with Portobello and button mushrooms.

What we think of it: This soup is REALLY creamy, so it's a great option if you love rich soups.  Despite its creaminess it only has 4g fat per serving, which is impressive.  A good soup -- not great.

HG Heads Up!  This soup is a funky grey color.  Don't be put off by it.
