Let's face it, clam chowder is really good. Thick, white clam chowder is one of life's greatest guilty pleasures. And, thanks to our friends at Campbell's, the word "guilty" can now be yanked from that sentence. The label doesn't lie when it promises "a rich and creamy clam chowder made with an abundance of potatoes and tender and succulent clams." An entire can (which is supposed to be TWO servings...yeah right!) contains just 200 calories, three grams of fat and 12 grams of protein. Not bad! So to the calorie and fat-conscious we say, "Clam it up!" |

Hard to believe the very same concerned folks who bring us that heavenly 98% fat free clam chowder are the evil masterminds behind the gloppy, fatty clam goo that inhabits this familiar red can. In any case, we wonder why anyone would choose to ingest a whopping 28 grams of fat when they could get almost the same taste and pleasure out of eating soup that contains just three. Just say NO to this fatty shellfish concoction! |
