Hey! Have you lost a lot of weight in a safe, healthy way? If so, you could be just what Looking Good Now! needs. The mag, which features oodles of awesome recipes, real-life stories, tips (and, of course, monthly food finds from Hungry Girl), is currently seeking cover models and real life weight loss stories. Click here to send your story and you may find your face (and svelte new bod!) on the cover of an upcoming issue. By the way, LGN's February cover model is a Hungry Girl subscriber, so keep an eye out for the new issue...
Burn, Baby, Burn!
Can you imagine having a groovy device that could track every single calorie you burn throughout the day, no matter how much or how little activity you do? The BioTrainer, a small little pedometer-ish item that simply attaches to your hip (and weighs just over an ounce), promises to do just that. Clip it on, enter your weight (FYI: lying will only hurt you in this case), go about your daily biz, and poof, at the end of the day you'll know exactly what you burned. Check out the BioTrainer here. We hear it comes as part of some weight loss system but we're more interested in getting our hands on the snazzy little gadget itself.
Every Calorie Counts
Cookies for Breakfast...Woohoo!
HG Alert! New Products...
Here are some new & exciting things to eat...
Quaker Breakfast Cookies - Containing calcium, iron, and 5g of fiber, these 170-calorie cookies are a sweet & satisfying on the go morning meal.
Dannon Light 'n Fit - Newly revamped and made with Splenda, Dannon's low cal line now has just 60 calories. Heads up! The new yogurts are thinner and not quite as good. We prefer the 90-calorie Light 'n Fit Creamy instead.
eDiets FreshCuisine - eDiets.com, the popular web site, is launching a line of chef-prepared, healthy, low-cal, fresh meals and foods that can be delivered to your door. They can even be tailored to your taste buds and weight loss needs. Awesome!
Everyone's favorite starchy toy, Mr. Potatohead, is making a comeback as thenew "spokespud" for the U.S. Potato Board. He's pushing healthy recipes and encouraging kids and parents to get out and exercise. Check it all out at healthypotato.com. ***A recent study conducted by research firm NPD Group found that although many people promise to lose weight as a new years resolution, more people actually start diets in March as bathing suit season approaches. Interesting... ***Another recent study that will be published this week in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology has found that a healthy, nutrient-packed, low-calorie diet (of 1,400 - 2,000 calories per day) vs. a higher-cal diet (of 2,000 -3,000 a day) can help keep your heart young. No surprise there. That's all we've got. HG out!
