Spotted on Shelves...

Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers with Sauce - Vegetables that steam in
the bag are fun and convenient. And these low-fat, sauced-up offerings from
Green Giant are delicious, too. A serving of each sauce-topped veggie
variety has 45 - 90 calories, 1 - 1.5g fat, 7 - 16g carbs, 2g fiber, 2 - 3g
protein, and a POINTS® value of 1 - 2* (the cheesy rice one has higher
stats). We recommend pouring a whole bag (yup, all 2 - 3 servings) over a
package of Tofu Shirataki noodles. Yum.

Sensible Portions 100 Calorie Packs of Multi Grain Mini Crisps - The Sensible
Portions peeps were the FIRST to make itty bitty crisps in portion-controlled
pouches (yes, the very FIRST), and now their MULTI-GRAIN crisps are
available in 100-calorie packs. These delicious things come in Apple
Cinnamon, Cheddar, and Sour Cream & Onion. Each pack -- around 34
chips -- has 3g fat, 16 - 17g carbs, 1 - 1.5g fiber, and 1.5 - 2g protein
(POINTS® value 2*). A VERY smart way to crunch!

Kozy Shack Ready Grains Healthy All Natural Multigrain Cereal - Check out
this lineup of refrigerated cereal bowls from our favorite rice pudding peeps.
In Original, Maple Brown Sugar, Strawberry, and Apple & Cinnamon, each
one has 180 - 210 calories, 2g fat, 30 - 39g carbs, 7g fiber, and 7 - 8g
protein (POINTS® value 3 - 4*). They taste like oatmeal-pudding hybrids,
and even though the packages say you can eat 'em hot or cold, they're WAY
better hot. FYI, skip the Strawberry!

Speedy Eaters Wear Bigger Pants

A Japanese study published in the British Medical Journal (but no doubt
pertaining to those of us in the U.S.!) suggests that people who eat quickly
until they're full are THREE TIMES MORE LIKELY TO BE OVERWEIGHT. The
findings conclude that eating styles, not just food choices, are most likely
contributing to the obesity epidemic. This makes perfect sense, because if
you're continually chewing and swallowing food, your body has little time to
digest anything and tell your brain it's feeling full. Our suggestion? EAT MORE
SLOWLY! Here are some tips & tricks to help you do this...

1. Take smaller bites and chew carefully. You'll taste and enjoy food more
this way, too.

2. Drink water in between forkfuls of food, putting your fork down while you
sip. This will slow the chewing pace and help you feel full as well.

3. Pay attention to what you're eating. Don't just mindlessly stuff yourself.

The Buzz...

Sometimes you need that little extra nudge to stop you from swallowing the
wrong thing. Enter Easy Diet Labels. They're cute little stickers you put all
over the various foods in your fridge and pantry, and they say things like "Hi
Fiber Good Choice", "Low Cal", "Hi Carb", and "Great Snack". Best of all, the
sticker packs come in four varieties -- Low Carb, Heart Health, Families
Building Healthy Eating Habits, and Calorie Counting. EDLs were created by a
guy named Steve who has lost a bunch of weight since he started stickin' 'em
on stuff. We tried the Calorie Counting ones, and they actually worked. Nice!

snacks, has launched licensetosnack.com. It's a website that teaches you
how to make healthier snack choices. Hmmmm... are they recommending or
