Spotted on Shelves...

Dreyer's/Edy's Slow Churned Light Ice Cream in New Limited Edition Flavors -
LIGHT ICE CREAM ALERT! Find these new limited edition flavors ASAP.
There's S'mores (complete with a graham cracker swirl, marshmallows, and
chocolate chips!), Mud Pie (with fudgy sauce and chocolate cookies!), and
Nestle Drumstick Sundae Cone (it has fudge, chocolate-covered peanuts,
and cone pieces!). A half-cup serving of each has 120 - 140 calories, 4 - 5g
fat, 19 - 21g carbs, 0g fiber, and 3g protein (POINTS® value 3*).
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (That's us screaming for the new ice cream.)

Bumble Bee Prime Fillet Tonno in Olive Oil - Far be it from us to recommend
tuna packed in oil, but this stuff is INSANELY flavorful and delicious. A
drained 2-oz. serving (about 1/4 cup) has 110 calories, 5g fat, and 15g
protein (POINTS® value 3*). It's so good it you can eat it straight from the
can. (Each can has about two servings, BTW.) Mmmmm!

Bear Naked 100% Pure & Natural Cereal - Cereal fans, hear THIS. Bear
Naked, best known for its granola, is rolling out two DELICIOUS (we
tried 'em!) granola-sprinkled cold cereals this month -- Cranberry Raisin
(flakes with raisins, cranberries, pepitas, sunflower seeds, and apples) and
Banana Nut (flakes with banana chips, oat clusters, apples, and walnuts). A
3/4-cup serving of either has 110 calories, 2.5g fat, 22 - 23g carbs, 2 - 4g
fiber, and 1 - 3g protein (POINTS® value 2*). Heads up -- they're packaged
in resealable bags, not boxes.

Restaurant Nutritionals to Hit Menus Nationwide!?!

Big news in the world of menu labeling, people. So far, only NYC and a
handful of other cities and states have adopted a law requiring restaurant
chains with at least 20 locations to post calorie counts on their menus. Now a
NATIONAL law is in the works... and there's a new and exciting twist. These
restaurants would also be required to provide additional stats -- like fat,
carbs, and fiber -- upon request. This latest proposal is a compromise
between the two previously competing legislations with similar goals, making
it much more likely to be passed. BTW, we appreciate the clever naming of
these two acts. One is the LEAN Act (short for Labeling Education and
Nutrition) and the other is the MEAL Act (Menu Education and Labeling).

The Buzz...

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Buzz to bring you information about our
new favorite salsa in the world. Don Sabrosa Natural Gourmet Salsa... um...
where have you been all our lives?! Heads up to salsa fans -- THIS SALSA IS
in Black Bean & Corn, Roasted Garlic, and With Blueberries, Peaches &
Honey. BTW, we only discovered this stuff because it magically appeared in
our mailbox one day. We haven't been the same since. ***Hey, beef-
avoiders who frequent KFC! You'll be interested to know that the chain is
using "beef powder" and "rendered beef fat" in its new grilled chicken
marinade. (Not surprisingly, this news comes courtesy of a chicken-hawking
competitor.) Consider yourself alerted. ***Do you LOVE Burger King's Apple
Fries and dream of seeing them on supermarket shelves? Your dream will
come true this fall when 10,000 grocery stores start carrying them. True,
they're just peeled & sliced apples... but in adorable French fry containers!
***Heads up! If you used your credit or debit card at Starbucks on May 22nd
or 23rd, you very well may have been charged TWICE -- about a MILLION
customers were. The good news is that the company has worked hard to
credit all of the extra charges -- but check your statements to be sure!
***Attention, Vita lovers! Do NOT miss our 2-for-1 special offer coming up
TOMORROW -- we've got a pack crammed with chocolatey VitaTops and
VitaBrownies... and you get the second pack FREE! That's all we've got. HG
