a tiny fraction of our audience receives our emails in text-only form, and the

emails look so much better designed in HTML, we have decided to stop

sending out the text-only versions of Hungry Girl newsletters. This change

Hungry Girl,

I lost (misplaced) my copy of The Cheesecake Factory's menu with the

calorie counts for everything. Can you help me?

Searching for Stats

Dear Searching,

YES! Of course I can help... While Cheesecake doesn't post stats on its

website, you can download the nutritionals (as found in brochures displayed

in locations where disclosure's required) by clicking here. And you can just

browse through the info by clicking here. I have to warn you, it's not pretty.

There are LOTS of insanely high-calorie items on the menu. In fact, most of

the info is alarming. The good news is that we're putting together a helpful

little "cheat sheet" survival guide for The Cheesecake Factory -- look for that

email next month! It'll be a lot like the one we did for Outback Steakhouse a

week or so ago. In the meantime, peruse those menu stats, and be

CAREFUL! And check out these HG swaps: the Nice to See Ya! Quesadilla and

our Ring-My-Bella Mushroom Sandwich. Yum!

New vegetarian here. College student. What are some HG-friendly snacks

that are quick, filling, and meat-free?

Snack-Happy in Saratoga

Dear Snack-Happy,

Hi! There are MANY great snack options for vegetarians. In fact, with the

exception of beef jerky (and I have a swap or two for that), most of my

snack recommendations are veggie-friendly. Some of my favorite fast and

filling treats are Fuji apples, VitaTops, light string cheese, and 100-calorie

packs of almonds.

I really like beef jerky as well as turkey and chicken

jerky, but I LOOOOVE a few meat-free types of jerky, too. Check out Primal

Strips -- they're made from mushrooms and soy protein and come in

amazingly good flavors. Also find some Tasty Eats Soy Jerky, specifically the

Hot N' Spicy flavor (which is actually more sweet than hot or spicy). Meatless

jerky really is a great option for non-meat-eating HGers on the go -- it's low

in calories, packed with protein, and easy to carry in your backpack or

purse. Find it at health food stores and select grocery stores, like Whole

Foods, or just order some online. Enjoy and happy snacking!!!
