Spotted on Shelves...

Snack Factory Modern Classics Pretzel Crisps - Flat pretzels flavored with
THREE cheeses? Crispy snacks that taste like cinnamon toast?! Yup! The new
Tuscan Three Cheese and Cinnamon Toast Pretzel Crisps are to die for, but
that doesn't mean we love the Classic and Supreme kinds any less. Each
1-oz. serving (10 - 11 Crisps) has 110 calories, 0 - 1.5g fat, 170 - 520mg
sodium, 22 - 23g carbs, 1g fiber, 2 - 4g sugars, and 3g protein (POINTS®
value 2*). Find 'em at Whole Foods. Get excited!

Annie Chun's Frozen Potstickers and Mini Wontons - Yay, a no-guilt dim sum
fix! The Potstickers are organic and stuffed with veggies and either
chicken or pork; a 7-piece serving has 220 - 260 calories, 3.5 - 10g fat,
600 - 620mg sodium, 32g carbs, 2g fiber, 3g sugars, and 12 - 14g protein
(POINTS® value 4 - 6*). The Mini Wontons come in Chicken & Cilantro,
Chicken & Garlic, and Pork & Ginger; a 4-piece serving has 50 - 100
calories, 0.5 - 3.5g fat, 150 - 230mg sodium, 9 - 14g carbs, 1g fiber, 1g
sugars, and 3 - 4g protein (POINTS® value 1 - 2*). Mmmmm...

Sinless Margarita Mix - We tend to be a tad skeptical of stevia-sweetened
products until we taste them. Well, this all-natural, non-alcoholic mix is
REALLY GOOD. No bitter aftertaste. Really. A 3-oz. serving has only 5
calories, 2g carbs, and nothing else (POINTS® value 0*). Just combine 2 - 3
parts mix with 1 part tequila, and you're good to go! Click to find (if you
live in Georgia) or buy online.

The Other Census: Fitness & Food Findings

By now, everyone has completed and returned their U.S. census form (or at
least they SHOULD have). Well, Health.com and Gold's Gym conducted a
"fitness census," and the results are, well, mixed. Take a peek at the
tidbits we found most fascinating...

Size matters. Since the year Ice Ice Baby littered the airwaves (a.k.a.
1990), the size of the average cheeseburger has doubled, and the calorie
count for a standard chocolate chip cookie has quintupled!

Butter believe it. In the past decade, the amount of fat the average
American consumes per week has increased by the amount in TWO STICKS OF
BUTTER. Eeeks!

Exercise is on the rise. Currently, 45.5 million folks belong to a health
club (compared to 32.8 million in 2000). Go, us!

Coming A-SNACK-tions!

Bad wordplay aside, we're SUPER excited about some new guilt-free goodies
headed our way. In addition to the new Laughing Cow Light flavors coming
this June (Blue Cheese! Queso Fresco & Chipotle! Mozzarella, Sun-Dried
Tomato & Basil!), look what else is hitting shelves this summer...

Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Bars and Sandwiches - We got a sneak chew and fell
in LOVE with these new ice cream treats. In flavors like Vanilla Caramel
Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, they've each got 110 - 160 calories
and 4 - 6g fat (POINTS® value 3*). We hear they're already popping up on

Emerald Nuts Cinnamon Roast Almonds - The makers of our beloved Cocoa Roast
Almonds recently announced that this new product is on the way, in both
canisters and 100-calorie packs. We're ESPECIALLY thrilled about the
100-cal packs. The new nuts hit shelves this August!

NEW VitaTop Flavor! - Our pals at Vitalicious have been busy perfecting a
brand-new variety in their amazing line of high-fiber, 100-calorie
muffin-ish treats. The newbie-to-be is SO top secret, we don't even know
what it is. (OK, maybe we do but can't tell you!) More soon...

The Buzz...

It's an HG investigation! Are you a fan of Ken's Healthy Options dressings?
Rumor has it, the stats per serving for the Caesar Vinaigrette suddenly
increased from 50 cals and 4g fat (POINTS® value 2*) to 70 cals and 6g fat
(POINTS® value 3*). Midway thru our product probing -- during which a
customer service rep backed up the new nutritionals -- the entire dressing
line disappeared from Ken's site! Then, we stumbled upon this warning
letter from the FDA. WE WANT ANSWERS! ***Here's a reformulation of a better
kind: Coke's new high-tech soda fountains allow users to choose from more
than 100 beverage options! Caffeine-Free Diet Coke with Orange? Sprite Zero
with Grape? Coming right up! ***Speaking of beverage flavorsÂ… Torani
recently launched a syrup that tastes like BACON. We're not sure whether to
be appalled or to beg for a sugar-free version. ***HG event reminder! If
you're in the Chicago area or the Memphis vicinity, do NOT miss the Hungry
Girl 1-2-3 book-signing bonanza next week! Snacks will be chewed, prizes
will be given, questions will be answered, and books will be signed. Click
NOW for details! ***We are THRILLED to report that Hi-Chew -- a unique,
chewy, delicious Japanese candy (and a fave of HG Lisa herself) -- is
becoming widely available in the U.S.A. If you see it, GRAB IT! Only 21
calories a piece. (Mango is the best, but all the flavors ROCK!) That's all
we've got! (And it's a LOT.) HG out!
