a tiny fraction of our audience receives our emails in text-only form, and the
emails look so much better designed in HTML, we have decided to stop
sending out the text-only versions of Hungry Girl newsletters. This change
will happen in the very near future. Keep an eye out for the HTML versions in
your inbox... coming soon!***

This is the text version of Hungry Girl.

Dole Very Veggie Salad Blend - Enjoy the convenience of bagged salad but
find the veggie combos less than thrilling? Hold the phone! (Unless the call's
important.) In addition to the usual (delicious) salad suspects, this just-dress

these tasty li'l candies caught our eye. The collection includes Margarita, Piña

Stuff You Didn't Know You Needed!

It's been a long time since we last featured some fun "food-y" items that
can't be chewed. Look what we found...

Nacho Lip Balm - For anyone who's ever wanted to slather hot cheese on his
or her mouth. (Don't act like it has never crossed your mind!) We're
intrigued by this pseudo-cheese find...

Mini Cupcake Maker - Pop some batter into this thing (may we suggest some
recipes?), and you'll have sweet treats in five minutes!

KOKO Jenn Insulated Lunch Bag, Hot Pink - Not only is this fashionable lunch
tote super cute and a fabulous shade of pink (AWESOME), but it also comes
with an intensely handy plastic fork-and-spoon set. Love. It.

The Buzz...

Who would've expected a sub chain called Blimpie to roll out a reduced-
calorie lineup? Not us! Yet, here it is: The Lighter Stuff menu. Participating
locations are serving up the line's six items, each with 370 cals and 6g fat or
fewer. The Asian Teriyaki Chicken Sub sounds especially gooood! ***We
think this new book about the crazy eating habits of notable humans should
be called Celebrities Eat the Darndest Things. It's actually titled What the
Great Ate: A Curious History of Food & Fame, and it's full of crazy facts.
Ernest Hemingway once ate a porcupine?!?! We've gotta read this... ***Ever
dropped a piece of food on the floor and called out, "FIVE-SECOND RULE,"
and then happily popped it into your mouth? A food scientist (um, with too
much time on his hands) has officially debunked the popular notion. Food is
NOT necessarily safe from bacteria if grabbed within five seconds... but we're
pretty sure no one ever REALLY thought that was a fact-based claim anyway.
***With all the exotic "superfoods" out there, we're excited to see a study
that suggests simple grapes (red, green, and black) could reduce the risk of
heart disease and type 2 diabetes. We're not waiting around for proven data;
we're going to pop some grapes into our faces right now. That's all we've
got. HG out!
