Holiday cooking doesn't have to mean an all-day, labor-intensive ordeal. Take a few shortcuts, and you'll get there in no time! We've got a couple of goodies you can make for a special meal or just for whenever... plus a super-special two-serving dessert!


Buttery Parm Breadsticks
PER SERVING (1 breadstick): 44 calories, 2.5g fat, 110mg sodium, 5g carbs, 0g fiber, 1g sugars, 0.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 1*

These things make a lovely accompaniment to any meal and also satisfy snacky cocktail party guests. EAT 'EM!




Ingredients:
2 tbsp. light whipped butter or light buttery spread (like Brummel & Brown)
1 package Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations Seamless Dough Sheet
2 tbsp. reduced-fat Parmesan-style grated topping
Spices: garlic powder

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 baking sheets with nonstick spray and set aside.

Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until just melted, about 15 seconds. Mix well and set aside.

On a dry surface, roll out dough into a large rectangle of even thickness, with the shorter sides on the left and right. Cut dough vertically into 10 evenly sized strips. Cut each strip in half horizontally, leaving you with 20 strips.

Twist each dough strip once or twice to form a twisty breadstick; evenly place on the baking sheets. Brush breadsticks with melted butter and top with Parm-style topping. Sprinkle each stick with a dash of garlic powder.

Bake in the oven until golden brown, 8 - 10 minutes.

Serve and devour!

MAKES 20 SERVINGS




Simply Sweet Meatballs
PER SERVING (1/5th of recipe, 4 meatballs): 199 calories, 8g fat, 390mg sodium, 8g carbs, 1g fiber, 6.5g sugars, 23g protein -- PointsPlus® value 5*

Either serve 'em with toothpicks like appetizers or place them on the dinner table as a center-plate entrée! We love multitaskers...



Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs. raw lean ground turkey
3/4 cup canned crushed tomatoes
One 8-oz. can pineapple tidbits packed in juice, drained
Spices: salt, black pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine turkey, tomatoes, and pineapple tidbits. Add 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands. Firmly form mixture into 20 evenly sized balls and place them, evenly spaced, on the baking sheet.

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

Gently flip meatballs. Bake until cooked through, about 5 more minutes. Enjoy!

Scoopy Arctic Chocolate Delight
PER SERVING (1/2 recipe, 1 bowl): 162 calories, 2.5g fat, 115mg sodium, 33g carbs, 0.5g fiber, 16.5g sugars, 0.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 4*

Grab a spoon, leave your mittens, and get ready for a chilly excursion to the bottom of your dessert bowl.... YEE-HAAAA!




Ingredients:
2 cups Cool Whip Free, thawed
One 25-calorie packet hot cocoa mix (like Swiss Miss Diet or Nestlé Fat Free)
1 standard-sized peppermint candy cane, lightly crushed, divided

Directions:
In a medium bowl, combine Cool Whip with cocoa mix. Mix thoroughly, until uniform in color. Gently stir in half of the crushed candy cane.

Divide mixture between 2 small bowls. Evenly top each bowl with remaining crushed candy cane. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours. Enjoy!
