Spotted on Shelves...

Fage Total 0% with Fruit Flavors - Our love affair with Fage (pronounced "fa-yeh") Total 0% Greek yogurt goes back a long way, so we're THRILLED to announce that there are now versions of the fat-free, protein-packed stuff with sidecar compartments of fruity add-ins!!! Check out these fancy flavors: Cherry Pomegranate, Blueberry Acai, Strawberry Goji, and Mango Guanabana (we've never even heard of that). Each 5.3-oz. container has 110 - 120 calories, 0g fat, 45 - 50mg sodium, 17 - 19g carbs, 0g fiber, 16 - 17g sugars, and 11g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). There's also a honey option, for a few dozen more calories. These are rolling out now, at grocery stores and supercenters, so look for them!

Kellogg's Eggo FiberPlus Waffles - Fiber freaks that we are, we're pretty excited to try these. In Buttermilk (yum) and Chocolate Chip (double yum!), a 2-waffle serving has 160 - 180 calories, 6 - 7g fat, 350 - 390mg sodium, 29 - 31g carbs, 9g fiber, 3 - 8g sugars, and 3g protein (PointsPlus® value 4 - 5*). Frozen waffles with 35 percent of our daily fiber? WOW! We'll be waiting by our toasters...

Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Frozen Vegetable Blends - Think wholesome food is outside your budget? It's not! These new veggie blends from Whole Foods' private label are selected for their high nutrient levels and sold for the suggested price of $1.99. With picks like the Leafy Greens (collards, kale, and mustard greens) and the Soup and Stew Blend (spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, and red potatoes), many have a PointsPlus® value of 0*. Click for more info, and eat your vegetables!

Bitty Bites!

The Cheesecake Factory Gets Skinny!
Don't get too excited -- the chain's not releasing a fat-burning chocolate cheesecake or anything. But it IS launching a new line of calorie-slashed cocktails with around 150 calories a pop! Anyone can shrink a drink or water it down, but these drinks won't lose the size or the oomph of the original cocktails. Instead, thanks to a combo of Splenda and natural sweeteners, they'll feature less sugar and fewer calories per ounce. Looks like CF's learning the ways of HG! However, this does not mean you should go nuts and get that Chocolate Coconut Cream Cheesecake...

What's the Deal with the Cow?
A recent email of some HG staples prompted MANY subscribers to write in, asking us if we're SURE that TWO wedges of The Laughing Cow Light Creamy Swiss cheese have a total PointsPlus® value of 1*. Here's the scoop: The wedges USED to have higher stats on their labels. But last year, the brand quietly rolled out new packaging to reflect lower sodium and fat counts, resulting from small tweaks made over the years to the product's nutritional content. Check the back of the wheel and note that each wedge has 35 calories, 1.5g fat, 210mg sodium, 1g carbs, 0g fiber, 1g sugars, and 2g protein; double those numbers and plug 'em into your WW calculator, and you'll see that two wedges have a total PointsPlus® value of 1*. If a food database tells you otherwise, it hasn't been updated to factor in the lower fat count. And now you know!

Smart Pizza for the Kiddos!
School lunches and children's nutrition are hot-button topics these days, and Domino's Pizza has entered the discussion. The company's Smart Slice pizza is freshly made with a white whole-wheat crust, reduced-sodium sauce, and reduced-sodium light cheese. Whoa! It's currently being served in over 120 school districts, soon to be more. Since 93 percent of schools in the U.S. serve (frozen) pizza, this is a great way to meet nutrition guidelines and still dish out food the kids will eat. Our question: When will we be able to get a Smart Slice pizza delivered to the HG HQ?

Butternut Squash Fries... Er, Fires!

The Buzz...

Is this the best thing we've ever seen? Quite possibly. PEOPLE! We found a candle that looks like a halved butternut squash. Oh Internet, is there any silly thing you can't sell us? ***More good news: The super-popular Bagel Thin items at Einstein Bros./Noah's New York Bagels, previously more bread-like in texture, are now made fresh in-house from bagel dough and can be found in the bakery case as well as in sandwich form. The reformulated thins will hit Manhattan Bagel stores later this year. AWESOME! ***Would you dance for snack food? Of course you would! Record your best moves, and submit the video to Food Should Taste Good's Touchdown Dance-Off; not only will you get a free bag of chips just for entering, but you could also win $10,000! (Ends 2/7/11.) And even if you don't want to put your moves on display, you can still have lots of fun watching other people's videos! ***Hey, you: Do you eat enough whole grains? Chances are, you don't. A new survey reveals that although most Americans think they get enough of the grainy stuff, only FIVE PERCENT of them do. Crazy insane, got no grain... That's all we've got. HG out!
