Spotted on Shelves...

Perdue Simply Smart Lightly Breaded Chicken - LOVE THIS! Really, what's NOT to love? People, this is precooked, heat 'n eat, guilt-free breaded chicken. It comes frozen in three varieties: Chunks, Strips, and Filets. Each serving (3 oz. chunks/strips or 1 filet) has 140 - 190 calories, 5g fat, 400mg sodium, 6 - 8g carbs, 0g fiber, 0 - 1g sugars, and 17 - 29g protein (PointsPlus® value 3 - 5*). We're dreaming of super-fast, no-guilt chicken Parm. YUM!

Pepperidge Farm Bagel Flats - Watch your back, Thomas' Bagel Thins! In Plain and Cinnamon varieties, these slim bagels are ready for breakfast chewing, sandwich making, and any other bagel-y activities. (Ring toss, anyone?) Each bagel flat has 100 calories, 1g fat, 120 - 130mg sodium, 22 - 23g carbs, 5g fiber, 3 - 5g sugars, and 4g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). Fabulous!

Veggie Patch Meatless Meatballs - Now you can find these fancy balls of faux meat in the freezer aisle, not just the refrigerated section of the produce aisle. So if you want to keep some veggie meatballs on hand for emergencies, stash these in your freezer! The stats are the same as the refrigerated version -- a 6-meatball serving has 140 calories, 5g fat, 390mg sodium, 8g carbs, 3g fiber, 1g sugars, and 16g protein (PointsPlus® value 3*). As the Veggie Patch peeps say, "Your spaghetti and family will thank you."

Go Pink for the Cure! These Companies Are...

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we love that so many groups are pitching in and helping out. (Have you noticed that even NFL players are decked out in pink?) In fact, some of our favorite companies are supporting the cause. First up, Food Should Taste Good is encouraging fans to "do good." Purchase a free-bag coupon to send to a friend; 100 percent of the proceeds go to groups fighting breast cancer. Also look for pink bags of the brand's snacks in stores -- a portion of the proceeds go to breast cancer organizations. Yoplait's super-popular Save Lids to Save Lives program is back and accepting lids through the end of the year -- for each lid received, 10 cents will be donated to breast cancer research... up to $2 million! Click here and see how you can redeem your lids online. (We imagine the people at Yoplait will be happy to sift through fewer licked lids without hurting the cause.) Boar's Head has guaranteed a donation of $100,000 in connection with sales of its Ovengold Roast Breast of Turkey and EverRoast Oven Roasted Chicken Breast. (Side note: YUM.) And don't forget about our new favorite tea, The Republic of Tea Sip for the Cure Strawberry Hibiscus Tea -- good taste for a good cause! For more information on breast cancer research and what you can do to help, visit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure website.

Chew for a Cause!

The Wonderful Doctor of Oz!

Join the Transformation Nation... and Maybe Win One Million Dollars!

Many of us would like to implement better habits -- exercise more, eat better, achieve and maintain a healthy body weight, etc. -- but it can be REALLY hard to find the motivation. Here's a REALLY good reason to give it a go... You could win a million bucks! For Dr. Oz's Transformation Nation: Million Dollar You contest, Oprah's BDF (Best Doc Forever) partnered up with Weight Watchers, Sharecare, and a team of health professionals. The program identifies seven key steps to weight loss and healthy living: Tell a Friend (there's power in numbers), Official Weigh-In/Calculate Your BMI, Connect with Your Doctor, Learn Your Family's Health History, Get More Sleep, Assess Your Stress, and Start New Fitness Habits. Join up, take the Ultimate Health Quiz, and get started! Next spring, the top 200 entrants will be selected, mainly based on weight loss/BMI improvement. Once whittled down to the top 10 finalists, it's up to the people of the world to select the winner by voting online for the most inspirational transformation. WOW. This is some serious business! So if you're up for the challenge, sign up and start changing your life.

Campbell has launched 35 new items, among which are 8 new Healthy Request soups. (Whole Grain Pasta Fagioli? Nice!) But make sure you check the labels on the other new items -- some of those Slow Kettle Style soups are pretty high in the stats department. ***Think you know how many calories you need daily? Think again. A survey by the International Food Information Council Foundation found that only 9 PERCENT of Americans could accurately estimate how many calories they should be eating. To find a good guideline for yourself, click here! ***Companies have been marketing to kids for years... but PETS? A European TV ad for Nestlé Purina Beneful features a sound only audible to dogs, similar to that of a dog whistle.
