I remember you mentioned in an email to check the baby-food aisle at the supermarket for adult-friendly foods. I would have never thought to look there! What can I find in that aisle that's worth seeking out?
I'm glad you asked! There are lots of guilt-free products made for toddlers that are great for grown-ups too.
In the actual baby-food aisle, the Gerber Graduates line features SO MANY delicious snacks made with good-for-you stuff like whole grains and freeze-dried fruits and veggies. The Mini Fruits are straight-up freeze-dried fruit; the Puffs are like fruity, crunchy cereal bits; the Yogurt Melts remind me of astronaut ice cream (so cool!); and the Fruit & Veggie Melts are li'l freeze-dried bites in fun flavor blends. These all taste great and travel well. And they're so low in calories that you can eat the entire bag or container for 100 - 150 calories. Also check out Gerber Grabbers, which are no-spoon-needed pouches of pureed fruits and veggies. (Think applesauce, but better.) Many of these purees taste great -- try 'em in smoothies or even blended cocktails. BTW, other brands make similar products, so look around!
Venturing into other aisles... Fruit Falls and Just 10 pouches, by Minute Maid, are like those squeezable juice drinks from your childhood except they're not loaded with sugary calories -- just 5 to 10 calories per pouch! Plus, you get to stab a straw into them, which is kinda fun. There are also lots of snack bars for kids that I REALLY like. Quaker Chewy Smashbars are crammed with sweet 'n salty goodness, and each bar has just 90 calories. I also enjoy Clif Kid ZBar Crispy Rice -- only 110 calories. In the dairy section, Chobani Champions are kid-friendly mini cups of Greek yogurt in really fun, not-too-tart flavors. They're packed with protein and have just 100 - 120 calories per container.
Other awesome kid finds? Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Bread (adorable and a good source of fiber), Barbara's Snackimals (animal crackers in crazy-good flavors), and Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets (have 7 for under 200 calories!).
Amazing, huh?! Grab some of these products during your next shopping trip, and prepare to have your food-world flipped upside down!

It's TRUE! Macaroni is the latest variety of House Foods Tofu Shirataki (a.k.a. an amazing 20-calorie-per-serving pasta swap). The best part about the macaroni noodles? Unlike the other (unwieldy) varieties, you don't have to cut these before working with them -- they're short from the start. And to answer your question, I happen to have a delicious recipe that uses these noodles. It's a super-slimmed-down version of classic mac & cheese. YAY!!!
