ASK HUNGRY GIRL

Hey Hungry Girl,

My husband wants to lose weight, but he doesn't take much of an interest in anything other than meat and starchy carbs. Any great diet-friendly recipes I can fool him with?

Swap to It

Hi Swap to It,

YES!! I've got MANY recipes your husband will happily enjoy without knowing they're guilt-free. Check 'em out!

If he's a sucker for fast-food breakfast items... This sausage 'n egg sandwich will save him from a fat-tastrophe. Other delicious options? A spicy, baconed-up b-fast burrito, and this fun 'n easy recipe for morning sliders!

When it comes to hearty lunch 'n dinner dishes... Chili is always great. This classic chili was created by my husband (so you know it'll pass the guy test!). And here's a baked chili casserole made with canned chili -- YUM! How about a chili-stuffed burrito with chips inside? SCORE! And click here for even more chili-packed recipes!

If he craves comfort food (like most humans do)... Here's an AMAZING cheeseburger-inspired casserole. This lightened-up 'Cue the Pulled Pork recipe was actually inspired by my husband, who's from Memphis. And here's a trio of super-easy, three-ingredient recipes for comfort-food favorites.

If he likes to have his buddies over to watch sports... These game-day snacks -- from nachos to taquitos -- are AWESOME. (Even if he's not a sports fan, he'll definitely be a fan of these recipes!)

For some junk-food favorites, click here! And if you own the first HG cookbook -- the one with the green cover -- check out the "Manly Meals" chapter: a dozen crave-worthy recipes for the man in your life (or anyone with a man-sized appetite!).

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Lisa,

I tried to make a savory dip with nonfat Greek yogurt, but it didn't turn out great. I added some fresh dill and chives, but it didn't have much flavor. Any advice for me?

Dip Do-Over

Hi Dip Do-Over,

First of all, not all Greek yogurts are created equal -- some taste better than others. My favorite brands are Fage and Chobani.

Now let's talk about add-ins. Fat-free Greek yogurt is great because it's such a versatile base; you can have a lot of fun with it. Sometimes I like to mix the yogurt with other fat-free or light creamy stuff -- like mayo and cream cheese -- to balance out the tartness. The richness of the yogurt really brings other condiments to life. This creamy veggie-packed dip is a great example of that, and so is my famous Buff Chick Hot Wing Dip. If you're looking for something on the simpler side, this two-ingredient dip is awesome -- the salsa adds tons of flavor. Also try stirring ranch dressing/dip seasoning mix into your Greek yogurt. It's GREAT!

Bottom line? To make a great dip, it's gonna take more than fresh herbs to really flavor up Greek yogurt. Experiment with lots of different condiments and seasoning mixes, like BBQ sauce and onion soup/dip seasoning mix... YUM!

Hungry for more? There's an entire chapter of dips in Hungry Girl 200 Under 200 -- and several are made with fat-free Greek yogurt. Enjoy!
