Exciting fast-food scoop: Taco Bell is reportedly testing a "Fresco Power" menu, featuring lower-carb items with at least 20g protein and less than 400 calories each! We hear it's very similar to the Cantina Bell menu, but stripped of heavy ingredients like rice and creamy dressing. We LOVE this idea and want to see it go nationwide. If you do too, click here and let the folks at the Bell know!!! There's strength in numbers, people... ***Remember our "Would You Rather... ?" poll from last week? Thousands of you weighed in, and we've got the results! When it comes to choosing between being at a healthy body weight forever and winning $5 million in the lottery, respondents were (surprisingly!) pretty evenly split; same with deciding between having a personal chef and a personal trainer. But when given the hypothetical option to either never have to exercise or never have to count calories, 68 percent would prefer to ditch the calorie counting. Also, 61 percent would rather have a better metabolism than a better memory, and an overwhelming 88 percent would rather that their favorite food be free of calories than free of charge. Interesting stuff! Thanks to everyone who participated. ***Trying to shed pounds and keep 'em off long term? According to recent findings, a low-carb diet could be more effective than a low-fat one. As published in this month's British Journal of Nutrition, researchers came to the conclusion after analyzing the results of more than a dozen studies. (That less-carby Taco Bell test menu is looking better and better!) ***Cool news! Pinkberry has just launched Pinkberrysmoothies made with Greek yogurt, most with 210 - 280 calories, 0 - 1.5g fat, and 11 - 12g protein each (PointsPlus® value 6 - 8*)! Choose from conventional fruity flavors like Strawberry Banana as well as offbeat options like Cucumber Mint. P.S.
