Hungry Girl Today: 11.13.13
ASK HUNGRY GIRL

Hi HG,

I am losing my mind with excitement over The Hungry Girl Diet! I cannot WAIT until the book is released next year. You said you'd be looking for HG fans to test the plan before then... How can I be considered?!

Eager Annie

Hi Annie,

You're excited? I'M EXCITED! This book has been a long time coming, and I'm so proud of it. I can't wait to share it with the world! For those of you who are reading about this book for the first time, The Hungry Girl Diet (coming in March) is a four-week jumpstart plan that lets you eat large portions of delicious food while losing weight FAST. It's everything you love about Hungry Girl in an easy-to-follow weight-loss plan. It's also approved by a wonderful registered dietitian (and wonderful human) David Grotto, RD, LDN. And it can easily fit into ANY flexible eating plan. You can read more about the diet by clicking here.

Now on to your question. I AM searching for fans across the country to try the plan in January... and possibly to help launch the book by appearing with me on TV! If you're interested in testing the plan and being featured in the media as a success story, CLICK HERE NOW!!! Not everyone will be able to try the diet before the book is released, of course, but many HG fans will be chosen, so click here and enter your info!

Keep reading your HG emails for the latest diet-book news... March will be here before you know it!

P.S. Any brides-to-be reading this and interested in testing the plan? Click, click, click!!!

Hi Hungry Girl,

I can't seem to find any breakfasts that keep me feeling full for more than an hour or so. What are your favorite breakfasts that are really satisfying?

Give Me a Break-fast

Hi,

Great question. I used to struggle with this too. But over the years, I've come up with some truly filling, delicious, and guilt-free breakfasts...

One of my favorite morning meals is a giant fruit and yogurt bowl topped with high-fiber cereal. I always use fat-free Greek yogurt, because it's thick, creamy, and LOADED with protein. I like the plain kind (by Fage or Chobani), sometimes with a no-calorie sweetener packet stirred in. Then I add a chopped Fuji apple, or some other fruit (red grapes are another favorite!), and a handful of Fiber One Original. It's HUGE and so filling. Classic HG!

Another one I love is what I call a growing oatmeal bowl. A serving of regular oatmeal is kind of sad to me -- small and unsatisfying. (Boo!) HG-style oatmeal is cooked with twice the normal amount of liquid for twice as long as standard oatmeal. This results in an ENORMOUS portion. I like to top it all off with some raspberries (one of the most fiber-dense foods in the world!) and a few almonds. SO GOOD!

And I'm a little obsessed with egg mugs, a.k.a. egg scrambles made in the microwave. I use fat-free egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original), but egg whites work well too. Sometimes I'll have one with a toasted light English muffin or 100-calorie flat bun that has a little light butter on it. And fruit... I pretty much ALWAYS have fruit with breakfast.

There you have it! Happy chewing!

CHEW ON THIS:
Happy Birthday to our very own Too-Good-To-Deny Pumpkin Pie... The classic recipe turns SIX today, November 13th! And while a six-year-old pie sounds a little gross, if you whip up a NEW one, it's absolutely delicious. :)
