ASK HUNGRY GIRL
This time of year I gravitate toward anything gingerbread flavored. Can you offer up some guilt-free suggestions? I'm ready to pounce on the gingerbread house I made for my son's school!

Low-calorie ways to get a gingerbread fix.
Gingerbread is definitely a holiday staple. But typical gingerbread cakes and cookies are pretty steep in the calorie and fat departments. (And that house of gingerbread is a WHOLE other story!) Luckily, there are plenty of smart ways to feed a craving for the spicy-sweet treat. Check 'em out...
For a traditional fix, ginger snaps (like the kind by Nabisco) are pretty fantastic, with just around 120 calories and 3g fat per 4-cookie serving (PointsPlus® value 3*). The trick is sticking to a single serving. Try pairing four of those snaps with a container of light vanilla yogurt or sugar-free pudding... Then dunk away! That'll make a serving last. You can also crush up a few, and sprinkle them over your yogurt or pudding. Mmmmm!
Another fun supermarket find? Jet-Puffed Gingerbread Mallows. You can have ELEVEN of them for 100 calories, and they're fat-free (PointsPlus® value 3*). Pop a couple in a mug of sugar-free hot cocoa, and you're on your way to gingerbread town! Celestial Seasonings has a very impressive Gingerbread Spice tea. Keep an eye out for that stuff! And you can have three Peeps Gingerbread Flavored Men for 120 calories and no fat (PointsPlus® value 3*). Mmmm...
Over at Starbucks, the gingerbread lattes and Frappuccinos can be calorie catastrophes, but not if you order right. Get a Tall with nonfat milk and no whip for 150 - 180 fat-free calories (PointsPlus® value 4 - 5*). Nice! You can also create your own gingerbread drink at home by adding a little Torani Sugar Free Gingerbread Syrup. It's virtually calorie-free. Worth seeking out or ordering online!
Wanna get creative in the kitchen? Whip up these Ginger Spiced Softies. So good! Also check out this gingersnap shake swap... AMAZING. Last but not least, the adorable Thin-gerbread Men -- only around 60 calories each (PointsPlus® value 2*).
There you have it. Enough gingerbread goodness to last you into the New Year!
