Kellogg's Jif Peanut Butter Cereal - Amazing PB-cereal alert! When it comes to both recipes and cereal bowls, this is our new go-to PB pick. It's super new, so keep your eye on the cereal aisle at supermarkets, Walmart stores, and Target locations. The box is easy to spot -- it looks just like a big jar of Jif!

Look for them at Walmart and select grocery stores.

Food Label News: Blinded by Buzzwords!
Walking through the supermarket, we're inundated by health-related marketing claims. Gluten-free! All-natural! Heart-healthy! It all sounds so wholesome, until you flip the package over and see that although that soda is boosted with antioxidants, it's also full of sugary calories; that bread might be made with whole grains, but not enough to give it even a single gram of fiber. Now, this isn't to say these claims are bad or without merit, but a recent study out of the University of Houston found that when shown the same food packaging both with and without the buzzy phrases, participants rated the versions with the buzzwords as being healthier overall. Yet when simply comparing nutritional labels, 20 percent of subjects felt Spam was healthier than salmon. Yikes! Clearly, it's important to consider both the nutritional stats and the food itself. In related news, a Consumer Reports survey found that 59 percent of consumers seek out food products labeled as "natural," even though the FDA has no formal definition of this term. So the research center is calling for a ban on the use of "natural" on food labels. Whether or not this happens, remember to ALWAYS check the nutrition panel and ingredients list to get the full story... especially the often-overlooked serving size and servings per package. Shop smart!

The Buzz…
We're having a party, and you're invited! Join us for a Twitter party, hosted by HG partner Wonderful Pistachios, this Wednesday (6/25) at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Chat with Lisa (HG herself) about smart Fourth of July snacks... like those beloved pistachios! Click for the details. ***Speaking of the Fourth of July, pet owners planning summer BBQs need to check out this advice for keeping furry family members safe during the festivities. A few tips? Keep them hydrated, provide shade, and make sure those pointy wooden skewers don't get tossed on the ground. We love our pets! ***Do you know your BMI? Confused about what that number means? Click for the basics on body mass index, courtesy of our pals and partners at About.com Health. Super helpful! ***Get ready for the most high-tech drinking cup on the planet (that we know of). The Vessyl cup knows what you're drinking, how many calories you've consumed, and how much caffeine you're getting! It can even account for melting ice cubes. WOW. Coming in 2015, and currently available for pre-order. ***And one more crazy technological advancement -- an industrial designer in Seoul has conceptualized a treadmill that can wash your clothes. It looks kind of like a ginormous hamster wheel. We're not sure whether this makes us want to exercise more or less... All that jogging just creates more laundry! And that's all we've got. HG out!
