Halo Top Creamery All Natural Light Ice Cream - This is not your average light ice cream. Let's get right to the numbers -- a 1/2-cup serving has just 70 - 80 calories, 3 - 3.5g fat, 89 - 116mg sodium, 12 - 13g carbs, 4 - 5g fiber, 4g sugars, and 7g protein (PointsPlus® value 2 - 3*). And it comes in tasty flavors: Vanilla Bean, Chocolate (our favorite), Lemon Cake, and Strawberry. Great taste for the calorie count... plus, it has fiber and protein. Click to find it!

Starbucks Iced Coffee Brewed to Personalize - The coffee pros at Starbucks have made DIY iced coffee a breeze with these new bottled products. In Unsweetened, Lightly Sweetened, and Caramel, just add ice, your milk of choice (or not), and sweetener (if needed). Then sip! Each 8-oz. serving has 10 - 60 calories, 0g fat, 0mg sodium, 0 - 11g carbs, 0g fiber, 0 - 11g sugars, and 0g protein (PointsPlus® value 0 - 1*). Available nationwide at grocery stores, Target, Walmart, and Sam's Club.

Jif Whips Whipped Peanut Butter & S'mores - This flavor combo is like a mash-up of a peanut butter cup and a fluffernutter sandwich (something we dream about nightly). The spread has a fat count comparable to reduced-fat peanut butter, with even fewer calories. A 2-tbsp. serving has 150 calories, 11g fat, 60mg sodium, 10g carbs, 1g fiber, 8g sugars, and 3g protein (PointsPlus® value 4*). P.S. A seasonal Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Pie Spice flavor is coming this fall!

The Buzz...
Food-faker alert! The folks at Fatburger have launched a "protein-style" burger at their new Beverly Hills location. But while a fast-food protein-style burger usually refers to a single lettuce-wrapped burger patty, this monstrosity features TWO meat patties as a bun! Considering a single Fatburger without a bun has 410 calories and 29g fat, we're hoping this menu item flames out quickly. For more food fakers, watch this Hungry Girl video STAT. ***Gluten avoiders, we've got good news for you! Foods labeled as gluten-free finally have some regulation. Now anything marked gluten-free must have less than 20 parts per million of gluten, an amount generally recognized by the medical community as safe for those with celiac disease. Heads up: This official rule only applies to packaged foods, though the FDA does recommend that restaurants making gluten-free claims keep consistent with the regulations. ***Let's face it: Running is not fun for everyone, and many of us avoid it because we can't sustain it for long periods of time. But a new study has found that even five to ten minutes of running per day could lower a person's risk of heart disease and premature death. We'll lace up right after this Buzz... promise. ***What are we Americans avoiding most these days in our diets? New research finds that people are commonly avoiding sugar and soda. On the other hand, about 90 percent are actively including vegetables and fruits in their diet. Good work, fellow citizens! ***And now, we'd like to give a shout-out to the nut that's been number one in our hearts and eating habits for ages... Almonds have officially passed peanuts as the most popular nut in America. Raise your 100-calorie packs of almonds high in the air! And that's all we've got. HG out!

CHEW ON THIS:
Today, August 18th, is National Ice Cream Pie Day. Not that we really need an excuse to make our Banana Split Pie, but it's nice to have one anyway.
