Biena Chickpea Snacks - Crispy bean snacks are a great chip alternative -- the fiber and protein make 'em extra filling. And these baked garbanzos are some of the best around! Trend Alert: Cook with Your Keurig!

The newest craze in at-work eating? Whipping up food using a coffee maker! That's right... People are preparing meals and snacks using nothing but a Keurig coffee machine. General Mills recently released a product line that's perfect for this trend: Bistro Cups. You get a pod and a pouch; just brew the pod contents into a mug holding the contents of the pouch, and then stir. Check out the deets below, and find them at Walmart locations...

Nature Valley Oatmeal Bistro Cups: In Apple Cinnamon Almond and Brown Sugar Pecan, each oatmeal pouch + bistro cup duo has 310 calories, 7 - 8g fat, 140 - 150mg sodium, 54 - 55g carbs, 7 - 8g fiber, 16 - 17g sugars, and 7 - 8g protein (PointsPlus® value 8*). Much smarter than that mega muffin at your morning meeting…

Progresso Bistro Cups: Feeling "hangry" in the middle of the workday? Have some soup! There are three varieties here: Creamy Tomato & Parmesan, Southwestern-Style Creamy White Bean & Corn, and Broccoli & Cheese. Each bistro cup + soup mix pouch has 170 - 250 calories, 6 - 10g fat, 600 - 680mg sodium, 22 - 38g carbs, <1 - 12g fiber, 3 - 9g sugars, and 3 - 11g protein (PointsPlus® value 5 - 6*). Yum, yum, yum…

Hack Attack: DIY! For breakfast, just empty an instant oatmeal packet into your mug, and use your Keurig to brew hot water over it... B-fast is served! This works for soup too: Use an instant packet, like Mishima miso soup. Aren't you smart?

The Buzz…

Cheerios are back on the menu, gluten avoiders! Five varieties of Cheerios -- Original, Honey Nut, Multi Grain, Apple Cinnamon, and Frosted -- are now officially gluten-free. Yet another good move by General Mills... ***Consider this a public service announcement: Figs ROCK. We recently had an eye-opening fig experience (figxperience?) with the California Figs Advisory Board... Fresh figs are mind-blowingly delicious and nutritious! Each medium fruit has about 40 calories plus 1.5g fiber. Figs are also rich in calcium, potassium, and antioxidants. Add chopped figs to your salad or yogurt bowl, or just snack on 'em straight. They're only in season for a few more months, though, so hop to it! ***Another healthy eating tip? Spice up your life! A new study found that eating spicy foods, even just once or twice a week, could reduce risk of death by 10 percent. This was no small study, either... We're talking nearly half a million participants. Might we suggest a batch of our EZ as 1-2-3 Alarm Turkey Chili? ***We have a reason to petition your boss to nudge up the office temperature a few degrees: Those chilly temps could be causing employees to overeat. Researchers found that for each degree (Celsius) of temperature increase, office workers ate around 86 fewer calories. See? That overactive air conditioner affects more than just your summer wardrobe… ***And in case you missed it, check out our latest HG video on… powdered peanut butter! We're showing easy ways to use it that you shouldn't miss -- click 'n watch, and get recipes and more here. And that's all we've got. 'Til next time… Chew the right thing!
