CHEW THE RIGHT THING
HG's Ooey Gooey Chili Cheese Nachos
We love nachos. We know they're not always good for us, but they do taste great. The crunchy chips, the gooey cheese... Sometimes, we've just gotta have a nacho fix. Luckily, when we want to indulge our nacho cravings, we don't have to resort to gulping down insane amounts of calories and fat grams. This make-at-home nacho swap is WAY lower in calories than pretty much anything you can order in a restaurant, but it still tastes awesome! Check out HG's Ooey Gooey Chili Cheese Nachos!
One 7-ounce bag baked tortilla chips
1 cup low-fat turkey or veggie chili
3/4 cup salsa
1/2 cup light soymilk
3 ounces fat-free block cheddar cheese
1 wedge The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons fat-free cream cheese
2 tablespoons fat-free sour cream
Melt all three cheeses in a saucepan with the soymilk; stir to combine. Heat chili and set aside. Microwave chips until warm, and place on a large platter. Pour your low-fat cheese sauce all over your chips. Cover your chips with chili. Spoon salsa on top, along with a few dollops of fat-free sour cream, and, voila, there you have it! Makes 6 servings.

Taco Bell's Nachos Supreme
Nachos are usually considered an appetizer. However, if you eat Taco Bell's version of the classic Mexican dish, you may want to skip the rest of your meal. That's 'cause the fast food restaurant's gloppy pile of tortilla chips, beans, cheese, sour cream, etc. contains an obscene 440 calories and 26 grams of fat (7 of 'em saturated!). Yeeee-eccch. Why inhale all those fatty calories in five minutes when you can swap it up and have a just-as-yummy version at home? Our advice is simple: When it comes to nachos and dining out, DON'T do it.
