Jell-O Sugar Free Pudding Snacks in Dark Chocolate - Seems like these 60-
calorie cups of creamy goodness keep popping up in new and different
flavors. The latest is Dark Chocolate (1.5g fat, 1g fiber -- POINTS® value
1*)! We tasted it, and it's really good (not that much different than the
regular Chocolate, but good!). By the way, we hear our favorite flavor in the
line, Dulce de Leche Vanilla Caramel Sundae, has finally been making its
way onto many more store shelves across America. It's about time! (Also,
there's a cool Jell-O contest going on now. Check it out!)
Blue Diamond Natural Oven Roasted Almonds in FLAVORS - If you're cuckoo
for almonds, you need to check out the new varieties available from our pals
at Blue Diamond. There's No Salt, Sea Salt, Vanilla Bean, and Cinnamon
Brown Sugar (they really hit it out of the park with those last two!). An ounce
of each (about 24 nuts) has 160 - 170 calories, 14 - 15g fat, and 3g fiber
(POINTS® value 4*). These do NOT come in portion-controlled packs, but
the containers do feature a cool little window that shows you when you've
eaten an ounce. Still, you may be better off sticking with their 100-calorie
packs of whole natural almonds, if you can't be trusted around a full bottle of
Celestial Seasonings Zingers To Go - Stevia alert! If you're an artificial-
sweetener-avoider (or just a person who likes to try new things), you may
want to check out these new Stevia-sweetened, 0-calorie, on-the-go packets
of caffeine-free green and herbal tea. Just rip one open and add to your
water bottle. Available in Blueberry Splash Green Tea, Peach Delight Green
Tea, Tangerine Orange Wave Herb Tea, and Wild Berry Chill Herb Tea.

If there's ice cream news, you NEED to know about it...
Breyers Double Churn Free in NEW FLAVORS!! - They're really steppin' it up
this spring over at Breyers (nice work, guys!). Their Double Churn Free line
of fat-free ice cream is so successful, they're rolling out FOUR new flavors --
Chocolate Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Mint Fudge, and
Strawberry. The stats on these ice creams are PHENOMENAL -- a 1/2-cup
serving of each has 90 - 110 fat-free calories and 3 - 4g fiber (POINTS®
value 1 - 2*), so expect to see them showing up in our fun summer recipes
(and in our dessert bowls). Pssst... the Strawberry and the Chocolate Fudge
Brownie are the flavors with a POINTS® value of 1* per serving (yes!).
31-Cent Scoops at Baskin-Robbins - Next Wednesday night (4/30/08), from
5 - 10 PM, you can head into participating BR locations and nab scoops of
your favorite flavor for just 31 cents each. Before you get all excited, here
are HG's recommended rules... 1. Stick with their "Lighter Side" offerings
(check out the nutritional info for all their flavors ahead of time by clicking
here). 2. Just because they're cheap doesn't mean you need to get three
or four of 'em! (FYI, that last rule only applies to ice cream scoops, not cute
clothing items.) And one more thing -- the free scoops are a cool 2.5 ounces
each, which means any "Lighter Side" selection will have only 75 - 120
calories and 0 - 3g fat (POINTS® value 1 - 3*).
Ice Cream PEOPLE?! - If you dig looking at pictures of food with faces, here's
a site for you. It showcases TONS of pics of frozen desserts that have eyes,
noses, and mouths. Yeah, it's weird -- but eyeballing "Ice Cream People" is
calorie-free (and admit it -- FUN!).
New! Delicious! Churned TWICE!
Stuff You Didn't Know You Needed...
DoneRight Timer - This insanely handy must-have gadget keeps track of up
to FIVE items cooking simultaneously. AND it's shaped like an oven, with the
timers located in spots corresponding to your food! How come no one else
has thought of this? Sheesh!
Garden Patch Cakelet Pan - Hmmmmm... maybe if you bake cakes in the
shapes of vegetables, they'll have fewer calories and less fat. NOT! Still, this
pan bakes up the CUTEST mini muffins 'n cakes shaped like carrots,
radishes, cabbages and pea pods. SO CUTE! Try whipping up a batch of your
favorite VitaMuffins at home using it!
JumpSnap the Ropeless Jump Rope - Jumping rope burns calories like MAD.
But if you don't have a lot of space and/or you're the type who keeps
smashing the thing into your leg (it happens!), you may be interested in
this "ropeless" version. It is VERY cool and even tracks how long you've been
jumping, how many calories you've burned, and more. You can also up the
intensity by inserting the weights that it comes with into the handles. Check it
Heads up! Malt-O-Meal has recalled its unsweetened Puffed Rice and Puffed
Wheat cereals that have "best if used by" dates of April 8, 2008 to March 18,
2009. This INCLUDES some store-branded bags, as well (click here for full
details). Please check to see if you have these in your house, people -- then
return them for a full refund or simply get rid of them, as they may contain
salmonella. ***Looking for more motivation to count calories? New research
shows that a high-calorie diet may activate certain receptors in your skin that

***Need more reasons to love apples? A recent study suggests that apple-
eaters have a significantly reduced risk of metabolic syndrome -- making
them less likely to be overweight, have high blood pressure, and experience
heart problems. Plus, apples taste GREAT, don't have a lot of calories, and
