GIRLS BITE OUT

It seems like we just updated our essential guide to guilt-free grocery
shopping, but these items are so good they must be added immediately (if
not sooner)! Check out
our TOP ATE...

1. Quaker Mini Delights
(1 bag: 90 calories, 3 - 3.5g fat, 85 - 180mg sodium, 14 - 15g carbs, 1g
fiber, 0 - 6g sugars, 1 - 2g protein = 2 Points)

Okay, so maybe we did technically include these in our last list (lumped into
the rice snacks category), but these 90-calorie snack packs rock so very
much, that we felt they deserved special mention. All three flavors (Buttered
Popcorn, Chocolatey Drizzle and Cinnamon Streusel) are fantastic. Eat 'em
straight or use 'em creatively in recipes. Your call.

2. Kellogg's All-Bran Crackers, Multigrain
(18 crackers: 130 calories, 6g fat, 270mg sodium, 19g carbs, 5g fiber, 4g
sugars, 2g protein = 2 Points)

We’re big BIG fans of this flavor-packed crunchy cracker snack from
Kellogg's. You get to chew 18 of these critters for just 130 calories. And we
think the high fiber count more than makes up for the slightly high fat count.
Plus these are wholesome and filling, and they still clock in with just 2 Points
per serving!

3. Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers Featuring NEW Flavors!
(10 sprays: 10 - 15 calories, 0.5 - 1g fat, 70 - 100mg sodium, <1 - 2g carbs,
0g fiber, <1 - 1g sugars, 0g protein = 0 Points)

The original Spritzers turned up on our previous list, but now we're
welcoming FOUR all-new amazing flavors to the Spritzer lineup. In addition to
the Italian, Red Wine Mist and Balsamic Breeze vinaigrettes, there are now
the following ones, as well: Asian Silk, Raspberry Bliss, French Flair, and
Caesar Delight! We'll be reviewing these soon, but in the meantime, please
know that they ROCK!

4. Lean Cuisine Twice The Veggies Entrées
(1 entrée: 250 - 350 calories, 4 - 9g fat, 610 - 680mg sodium, 32 - 56g
carbs, 2 - 6g fiber, 4 - 19g sugars, 13 - 20g protein = 5 - 7 Points)

Instead of rattling off all the new flavors in this much-needed line of veggie-
packed frozen entrées (click here if you're dying to know), we'll make it easy
for you: just look for the green label on LC's packaging shouting, "TWICE
THE VEGGIES"! We've always loved the convenience of low-cal, low-fat
frozen entrées but wished they'd bulk 'em up a bit with filling, fiber-licious,
good-for-you veggies. Leave it to LC to grant our wish! And these aren't
dumb old boring veggies; there's edamame, sugar snap peas, red peppers,
cherry tomatoes, asparagus and more.

5. Hostess 100 Calorie Packs, Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Icing
(3 cakes: 100 calories, 3g fat, 140mg sodium, 22g carbs, 5g fiber, 10g
sugars, 2g protein = 1 Point)

There's nothing wrong with a little cake every now and then, so if you're
gonna add a pastry pick to your list, it may as well be an adorable 3-pack of
mini cupcakes that are high in fiber and taste delicious. Serious carrot-cake
lovers and golden-cake fans may like those other varieties of these 100-
calorie packs, but we've only flipped for the chocolate ones. And no, they
don't have the famous Hostess squiggle (sad times).

6. Birds Eye Steamfresh Fresh Frozen Vegetables, Original Varieties
(2/3 cup - 1 cup: 30 - 70 calories, 0 - 1g fat, 0 - 30mg sodium, 4 - 14g carbs,
1 - 4g fiber, 2 - 6g sugars, 1 - 5g protein = 1 Point*)

These fun-to-use bags of frozen veggies steam up perfectly in the
microwave, right in the bag. The original varieties range from Sweet Corn to
the Broccoli, Carrots, Sugar Snap Peas & Water Chestnuts mix. But just
when you thought the wonderful world of Steamfresh couldn't get any better,
along come two new lines. There's Premium Selects (with fancy stuff like
Baby Brussels Sprouts) and Specially Seasoned (featuring yummy options
like the Garlic Baby Peas & Mushrooms). So bundle up and spend some
quality time in the freezer aisle scoping these out!

*Nutritionals exclude the Sweet Mini Corn on the Cob, which has 90 calories
and 2 Points per ear.

7. No-Sugar-Added Canned Fruit
(1 cup: 60 - 80 calories, 0g fat, 2 - 20mg sodium, 14 - 22g carbs, 1 - 4g
fiber, 10 - 20g sugars, 0 - 2g protein = 1 Point)

Frozen and fresh used to be your only options for fruit au natural. The
canned aisle was always full of fruit options soaking in juice (not so bad),
light syrup (a little worse), or heavy syrup (um, bad!). But now companies
like Del Monte are offering up ones floating in water with no added sugars or
preservatives! Many of these are sweetened with Splenda, and they are far
lower in calories than most canned fruit (with stats comparable to fresh fruit).
And they're a tasty way to keep fruit conveniently on hand -- in the kitchen
pantry, the office breakroom, etc. -- especially since they won't go bad as
quickly as the fresh stuff. We've even spotted some single-serving plastic
cups of this stuff for an easy, on-the-go fruit fix.

8. Individual Pouches of Chicken, Salmon and Tuna Fillets

(1 pouch: 110 - 200 calories, 1 - 4.5g fat, 370 - 1,030mg sodium, 0 - 18g
carbs, 0g fiber, 0 - 13g sugars, 24 - 36g protein = 2 - 4 Points)

On our last list, we brought you Bumble Bee Prime Fillet Albacore Steak
Entrées. But there's so much happening in the world of precooked, pre-
portioned and perfectly seasoned pouched poultry and fish, we felt the need
to bring you the full 411. In addition to tuna steak, both chicken breast and
salmon steak are now also available. These are great to keep in the house
for those days when you don't have the time or energy to cook dinner.
Bumble Bee's got several varieties of Prime Fillet Chicken Breast (Garlic &
Herb, Southwest Seasonings, and Barbeque Sauce), Prime Fillet Salmon
Steaks (Teriyaki and Lemon & Dill), and of course those Albacore Steak
Entrées (Ginger and Soy, Lemon and Cracked Pepper, and Mesquite Grilled).
Chicken of the Sea has got 3 types of Salmon Steak: Honey Barbeque,
Mandarin Orange, and Roasted Garlic. Psst… pair any of these pouches with
some of those Steamfresh veggies for the easiest low-cal dinner EVER!
