NEWS

Mouth Off... You Know You Want To!

Everyone likes to take a poll every now and then. It's fun to vote on stuff.
And humans like to speak their minds. We hope you agree with those three
sentences (at least enough to CLICK HERE NOW AND TAKE OUR POLL). This
is no ordinary poll, people. This poll speaks three languages, cleans windows,
and will give you a ride to the airport. Ok, that last sentence was a complete
lie -- but this poll isn't boring, and we REALLY do want your opinion on all
things HG. So click away and answer our Qs -- your feedback can help shape
Hungry Girl’s future!!! And if you still have more to say when you're done,
send an email to suggest@hungry-girl.com. Thank you so much for your
continued support, and for taking the time to help make Hungry Girl even
better.

Spotted on Shelves...

Curves Cereal - You've seen the gyms... you've seen the bars (snack bars,
not watering holes!)... but have you checked out the new Curves breakfast
cereals? The Whole Grain Crunch has 100 calories, 0.5g fat, and 2g fiber per
3/4-cup serving (POINTS® value 2*), and it's getting RAVES. The Honey
Crunch version has 190 calories, 1g fat, and 5g fiber per 1-cup serving
(POINTS® value 3*).

Light POM Tea - This 35-calories-per-serving tea comes in three flavors:
Pomegranate Hibiscus Green Tea, Pomegranate Orange Blossom Red Tea,
and Pomegranate Wildberry White Tea. It's packed with antioxidants and it
tastes GREAT. These teas come in AWESOME reusable POM glasses (with
about two 8-oz. servings in each) made of nice, thick glass -- totally original!
Just be careful not to get the REGULAR POM teas -- they look almost
EXACTLY like the Light ones but have twice as many calories.

Campbell's NEW Lower Sodium Soups - Heads up, sodium-counters! There
are FOURTEEN new reduced-sodium soups from Campbell's -- and SIX
of 'em are portable, requiring no can opener (four are in microwavable bowls
and two are part of the "Soup at Hand" line). Nice!

CONTESTMANIA!!!!

Real Men Eat Gardenburger - Gardenburger is on the hunt for REAL men, and
they need your help. Nominate your guy and you could win the ultimate
tailgate party -- including a gas grill, a plasma TV and a one-year supply of
Gardenburgers. BTW, have you checked out the new line of super-huge
Gourmet Garden Steaks from GB? They're more like Gardenburgers on
steroids than "steaks". The Fire Dragon, Hula and Baja ones each have 170 -
240 calories, 7 - 8g fat, and 5 - 7g of fiber (the Tuscany one has 280 calories
and 14g fat). The most HG-friendly one is the Baja, with a POINTS®
value of just 3*. They're worth checking out!

Can You Walk & Chew Gum? - Wrigley's is offering a slew of awesome prizes
if you're up to their challenge. Create a personal profile, record your walking
and calorie-cutting, and you can become eligible to win iPods, exercise
equipment, fitness gear and more. All the details are here. FYI, a recent
study found that chewing gum before an afternoon snack can help reduce
cravings and reduce your calorie consumption by around 36 calories. (And
chewing gum DOES burn a few calories -- it's not exactly aerobic exercise,
but every bit counts!)

The Buzz...

If you're a tea-drinker, listen up (and if you aren't one, you may want to
start!) -- new research shows that drinking tea may help you maintain a
healthy body weight, control your blood sugar, reduce your risk of heart
disease and cancer, and even help you think more clearly. Tea is one busy
beverage! ***Here's a random one. Experts are saying that eating apples
may help pregnant women prevent asthma (and wheezing!) in their children.
Drinking apple juice made from concentrate can also have the same effect.
Interesting! ***Oooooh, there are TWO new Torani Sugar Free Syrup flavors
out -- check out Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Peanut Butter. YAY! That's all
we've got. HG out!
