Spotted On Shelves...
Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Waffles -- We LOOOOVE Special K Red
Berries cereal. So we're psyched about these waffles! 2 of 'em have 160
calories, 2.5g fat, <1g fiber, and a POINTS® value of 3*.
Lean Pockets Whole Grain - With 16g of whole grain in each "pocket", these
cheesy mini-meals come in Ham & Cheese, Meatballs & Mozzarella, and
Supreme Pizza. Each one has 220 - 240 calories, 7g fat, and 3 - 4g fiber
(POINTS® value 4 - 5*).
Chex 100 Calorie Snacks in Strawberry Yogurt - Creamy... fruity...
crunchy... if you dig pre-portioned cerealish snack foods, these will make
you happy. Each pouch contains 100 calories, 2.5g fat, and 0g fiber
(POINTS® value 2*).
FREE STUFF! FREE STUFF!!!
You like free stuff, we like free stuff. Check out what you can get for
NOTHIN' this week (while supplies last, of course)...
FREE Fiber One - If you read HG, you know that Fiber One + your blender =
LIFECHANGING FAUX-FRIED AND/OR PIE CRUST DELICIOUSNESS! Maybe
you've never experimented with pulverized F1. Maybe you've never even
TASTED Fiber One 'cuz you think it's cereal for grandmas (or because it's
always sold out at your market). In any case, here's your big chance to try
it. Remember, each half-cup serving of original Fiber One cereal has just 60
calories and 1g fat and packs in 14g of fiber (POINTS® value 0*). Just click
here to get your FREE mini-box sample. Heads up -- you'll need to sign up
for the Eat Better America newsletter to get it.
Get a FREE Bar - Have you heard of the nutrient-rich, natural and organic
Simply Nutrilite Food Bars? We hadn't either, but they're offering FREE
samples. And FREE STUFF ROCKS! Click here to get one. Each bar has 170 -
180 calories, 5 - 6g fat, and 3 - 7g fiber (POINTS® value 3*). The hardest
part will be deciding whether to go for Cherry Almond or Chocolate Crisp
(they ALSO make a Tropical flavor and a Sweet & Salty one!).
Do Something GOOD This Holiday Season!
Donate Your Calories? Lose Weight & Raise Money! - We LOVE this idea.
Type in your stats (birth date, weight, goal weight, exercise & spending style,
etc.), and INSTANTLY you'll find out how much money you'd save if you
committed to losing the weight. Then, you're encouraged to donate that
money to a charity that fights hunger. There's even a link to "Charity
Navigator", which can help you pick the right charity. This is a great way to
drop a few pounds and raise a few dollars to help the hungry. Everybody
wins. YAY!
Have a Party, Help End World Hunger - Wanna help support a great cause
AND throw a rockin' bash? Check out GenerousPour.com. You can do all
sorts of cool stuff! Download a FREE music track (a dollar will be donated to
the Share Our Strength organization), get celebrity chef tips and recipes, and
so much more. Our favorite thing is the Holiday Party Kit -- you can print
custom invites, menus and recipe cards (you can even use HG recipes!), and
print out donation cards to encourage your guests to get into the giving spirit.
Nice!
The Buzz...
You know we're OBSESSED with HealthyDiningFinder.com, right? It's a
searchable database of restaurants across the country with info about the
healthiest foods you can eat there. Well, they just added Sizzler their site.
You MUST check it out. Also, remember to demand that your local eateries
become part of this AWESOME site (now that we think about it, asking
politely might actually be a better idea). DO IT! ***Hey! The Hungry Girl
store is on the way!!! It will be THE place to buy gifts for your pals (AND
YOURSELF!!!) this holiday season. We need a little help from you, so click
here NOW! ***A recently published study shows that a diet high in fat could
disrupt the body's internal clock, which regulates the sleeping/waking cycle
and how often hunger hits -- causing your metabolism to suffer. Click here
for more on that. ***November is American Diabetes Month. Did you know
that eating tart cherries may actually reduce the risk factors for developing
type 2 diabetes? Those cherries are packed with antioxidants, and a recent
study suggests that compounds in dark cherries help to lower blood sugar
and insulin levels. Go cherries, go! That's all we've got. HG out!
