HG's Mr. Tea Iced Chai Latte



Chai It, You'll Like It!

We pity the fool who doesn't make this creamy, spicy, iced-up chai...



Ingredients:

2 black chai tea bags

1 cinnamon stick

1 tbsp. fat-free non-dairy powdered creamer (like the kind by Coffee-mate)

1/8 tsp. vanilla extract

2 no-calorie sweetener packets (like Splenda or Truvia)

8 - 10 ice cubes

Optional topping: Fat-Free Reddi-wip



Directions:

Place tea bags and cinnamon stick in a tall glass. Add 3/4 cup boiling water

and steep for 15 minutes. (You want it strong so you can ice it down quickly.)



Remove tea bags and cinnamon stick and discard. Add powdered creamer,

vanilla extract, and sweetener, and stir until completely dissolved. Add 2 ice

cubes and stir until they melt.



Add remaining ice and stir. If you like, top it off with a squirt of Reddi-wip.

Now find a straw and start sipping!

Au Bon Pain's Iced Chai Latte





Bye Bye, Chai!

Chai lattes are hot (as in COOL!). Especially iced ones in early September.

The problem is that it's so easy to assume a basic tea drink is basically low in

calories. Yet many of the ones served at cafes and coffee shops are loaded

with more calories than a can of regular soda! The stats for the one served

at Au Bon Pain are painful alright. Starbucks' version has equally

unnecessary stats -- a Tall with 2% milk contains 180 calories and 3g fat

(POINTS® value 4*). Our latte is sweet, spicy, creamy, and cooler-than-cool,

but it's SO much lower in calories and (oh, look at that!) it's fat-free. So while

we may visit Au Bon Pain for salads and Starbucks for the occasional Light

Frap, when it comes to cold 'n creamy chai, we're sticking with our Mr. Tea

Iced Chai Latte. Just try and wrestle it away from us...
