<br>Death of a Corn Dog... Could Waffles Be Next?

<br>We're very sad to report that our beloved Morningstar Farms Corn Dogs 
<br>(both the full-size and the minis) are likely gone forever. After mysteriously 
<br>disappearing over the summer, due to a so-called "temporary out of stock 
<br>situation," the world's best meat-free corn dogs have officially been 
<br>discontinued. Soooo sad... Rest in peace, corn pups. In other news, another 
<br>of our freezer-aisle staples -- Eggo Nutri-Grain Low Fat Waffles -- has been 
<br>reported MIA. Apparently, flood damage and technology transitions at Eggo 
<br>have led to supply issues, and the waffles aren't expected to be fully back in 
<br>stock 'til mid-2010. ACK! Click here for the latest info, and grab some Kashi

<br>Have you noticed that lots of food products are getting makeovers these 
<br>days? The latest one we've spied is 100 Calorie Packs (by Nabisco), or 
<br>should we say, "Nabisco 100 Cal." New logo. New box. Not sure why. It's 
<br>kinda cute, but we think we like the old packaging better. You? 
<br>***Ooooh, "coming soon" alert! Mann Packing, creator of our beloved 
<br>Broccoli Cole Slaw, will soon launch Lo Mein Stir Fry, a broccoli slaw mix 
<br>complete with cooked noodles and teriyaki sauce -- and it clocks in at just 80 
<br>calories per serving. Nicely done! ***A recent study found that people who 
<br>chewed sugar-free gum for a total of one hour in the morning consumed 
<br>fewer calories overall compared to non-gum-chewers. Fascinating stuff, but 
<br>even more interesting? The study was funded by the Wrigley Science 
<br>Institute (as in Wrigley gum), whose primary purpose is to conduct research 
<br>related to the "benefits of chewing." Hmmmmm. We're on board with the 
<br>whole gum-chewing thing, but just remember to stick with sugar-free gum! 
<br>***Falling stats update! We've noticed that Green Giant Just for One Broccoli 
<br>and Cheese Sauce now contains 40 calories per tray, instead of 45 calories. 
<br>Same delicious, portion-controlled goodness, but with five fewer calories.
