***ATTENTION TEXT-ONLY HG SUBSCRIBERS (this means YOU!): Since only
a tiny fraction of our audience receives our emails in text-only form, and the
emails look so much better designed in HTML, we have decided to stop
sending out the text-only versions of Hungry Girl newsletters. This change
will happen in the very near future. Keep an eye out for the HTML versions in
your inbox... coming soon!***
This is the text version of Hungry Girl.

Hungry Girl Today: 1.5.10
CHEW THE RIGHT THING
BITE IT!
HG's Sassy Saucy Ribwich
Not-So-Porky Pig
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And while we LOVE the taste of the
original, Mickey D's McRib has too many calories and fat grams for its (and
our!) own good. Here's the (vegetarian-friendly) answer...
Ingredients:
1 Morningstar Farms Hickory BBQ Riblet (found in the freezer aisle)
1 Arnold Select/Oroweat Sandwich Thins roll or Pepperidge Farm Deli Flats
roll (or alternative below)
3 hamburger dill pickle chips
3 thin slices onion
Directions:
Prepare Riblet according to package directions. Meanwhile, split roll in half
and lightly toast.
Stack Riblet, pickles, and onion on the bottom half of the roll. Finish it off with
the top half. Now chew!

HG Alternative! For a lower-carb swap with less sodium, enjoy this with
crispy lettuce leaves in place of a roll, and nix the pickles -- that version has
240 calories, 3.5g fat, 815mg sodium, 39.5g carbs, 6.5g fiber, 25.5g sugars,
and 19g protein (POINTS® value 4*). Hooray!
FIGHT IT!
McDonald's McRib
This Little Piggy...
Humans are obsessed with the McRib sandwich. People dream about it, The
Simpsons spoofed it, and there are numerous Facebook fan pages devoted
to the pork-packed McTreat. When one measly sandwich has over 25 grams
of fat, though, we have a hard time getting all excited over it. But one fact
remains: The combination of BBQ sauce, pickles, onions, and rib meat is
delicious. (DUH.) So we turned to the alterna-rib from Morningstar Farms,
a.k.a. the Riblet. The first time we tasted that thing, we nearly fell out of our
chairs -- so this HG swap practically made itself. Just grab a package of
those meatless wonders from the freezer section, slice up an onion, and load
up a flat roll with pickles and ribby goodness!

HG Heads Up: Yup, our version is higher in sodium and carbs -- but it does
save you more than TWENTY grams of fat. For a lower-carb swap with less
sodium, see the recipe alternative.
