***ATTENTION TEXT-ONLY HG SUBSCRIBERS (this means YOU!): Since only
a tiny fraction of our audience receives our emails in text-only form, and the
emails look so much better designed in HTML, we have decided to stop
sending out the text-only versions of Hungry Girl newsletters. This change
will happen in the very near future. Keep an eye out for the HTML versions in
your inbox... coming soon!***

This is the text version of Hungry Girl.

Hungry Girl Today: 5.24.10
Spotted on Shelves...

Diet Snapple Trop-A-Rocka Tea - There are no words to describe how
freakishly delicious this limited-edition iced tea is. Crafted by Poison
frontman Bret Michaels as a Celebrity Apprentice challenge, it's a blend of
green and black teas with mango, cinnamon, peach, and pear flavors. Just 5
calories and 5mg sodium per 8-oz. serving (POINTS® value 0*). You HAVE
to try it... and fast, before it's gone. (Rumor has it, it'll be out for only two
months!) On second thought, let's all email Snapple and tell 'em to keep
making it forever... DO IT. (P.S. Get better, Bret!)

Q.bel All Natural Wafer Rolls - All-natural candy alert! Try these chocolate-
covered treats. In Crunchy Crispy/Dark Chocolate, Crunchy Crispy/Milk
Chocolate, and Peanut Butter/Milk Chocolate, each 2-roll package has 120 -
130 calories, 6 - 7g fat, 25 - 60mg sodium, 16 - 18g carbs, <1 - 1g fiber, 10 -
13g sugars, and 1 - 3g protein (POINTS® value 3*). Q.bel also makes
Wafer Bars in a slew of flavors. All AMAZINGLY good. Find them and eat
them.

Jennie-O So Easy Entrées - Need a quick main course for dinner? Turkey's
here to save the day! These new fully cooked, lean-meat dishes go from
fridge to table in about five minutes. We can't WAIT to try them. (Jennie's got
good taste.) Your options are Southwest Style, Turkey Meatloaf, Turkey
Parmesan, and Turkey Salisbury. Each serving (about 1/3rd of the package)
has 170 - 200 calories, 7 - 10g fat, 740 - 850mg sodium, 3 - 9g carbs, 0g
fiber, 0 - 4g sugars, and 19 - 20g protein (POINTS® value 4 - 5*). Add some
veggies, and it's dinnertime!

Breaking Bread News!

Nothing gets our attention quite like amazing low-calorie bread items, and
we're REALLY excited about these new finds. The latest? Our beloved Arnold
Select/Oroweat Sandwich Thins have a delicious new sibling... Fill 'ems
Sandwich Thins! These rectangular versions of the flat buns aren't cut all the
way through, making them perfect swaps for hot dog buns and sub rolls. And
the nutritionals are pretty much identical to the (awesome) stats of the
original Thins. Hey, copycat companies (we know you're out there waiting for
good ideas to steal)... MAKE THESE! We want them to be available
everywhere. Another bready thing we recently flipped for? Our pal Kim (of
Kim's Light Foods) has new lavash-like Flat Breads with only 100 calories
each! They're HUGE -- perfect for large thin-crust pizzas and ginormous
wraps. They're not in stores yet, but you can buy 'em online. And people,
don't forget about these other awesome newbies, Sara Lee 80 Calories &
Delightful Hamburger and Hot Dog Buns and Thomas' Bagel Thins. All bread
is NOT created equally.

Flat & Fabulous!

Make Your Own Mix? Nutty!
Customize Your Chews!

As complete control freaks, we love products that can be personalized.
Check these out...

My Mixed Nuts... and Trail Mix Too - Create your own combo of seeds, nuts,
dried fruit, and other goodies. (Or just pick one of the existing mixes, like
Bite Me! or Hi Energy.) As you create your snack sensation, you can check in
with the nutritional calculator to make sure you don't go overboard. Our
advice? Go easy on the fatty banana chips and macadamia nuts. Happy trail-
mixin'!

Chocri - Find yourself craving a white chocolate bar with jalapeños, chives,
and sprinkles? You're in luck, weirdo: Chocri is here. OK, so you PROBABLY
don't want that combo, but the site does offer more than 100 toppings: fruits,
nuts, décor, and more. And the bars are made from organic, fair-trade
Belgian chocolate. Any downsides? They're pricey (what did you expect for
one-of-a-kind bars with custom labels?), and exact nutritionals aren't
available (each LARGE bar has about 600 calories). But they make
FANTASTIC gifts!

MixMyGranola - Another "choose your own adventure" item. More than 70 all-
natural ingredients are offered -- from a gluten-free cereal base to organic
jelly beans -- and stats are calculated as you go. We've mentioned this
company before, but it's got a few NEW things for us to blab about: kid-
centric pre-mixes (like Banana-Rama and Kiweee!) and the option to add a
color photo to your tube o' granola. FUN!

soda bottles, bars, and shakes!

The Buzz...

Attention, HG fans in Chicago and Memphis -- Lisa (Hungry Girl herself) is
coming to town! She'll be signing books and slingin' snacks TONIGHT
(Monday, 5/24) at 7pm at Borders in Oak Brook, IL. Then on THURSDAY
(5/27), she'll be at Borders in Germantown, TN, for another super-fun 7pm
event. Click HERE for more info! ***And now, some news we LOVE... Frito-
Lay has reportedly pledged to make 60 percent of its snacks healthier by
next fall and to reduce sodium levels in its flavored potato chips by 25
percent before the end of next year. Plus, the brand's said to be looking into
new technology that could cut the fat content in Lay's chips by 40 percent.
YOWZA! ***Here's another amazing development: Burgerville, a fast-food
chain in the Northwest, is now printing customized nutritional info for people's
orders ON THEIR RECEIPTS. Talk about "in your face!" The receipts also
have tips on how to tweak your order next time to make it better for you.
Way to go, Burgerville! Just don't be surprised if people wanna exchange
their food for the stuff you suggested... *** Food RULES, but have you ever
felt so distracted by a craving that you had trouble concentrating? It's pretty
common. Australian researchers recently evaluated the effects that food
cravings have on the brain. Apparently, subjects who were craving chocolate
took longer solving math problems and did worse on verbal tests than those
who were not in crave mode. Scientists recommend visualization exercises.
We suggest guilt-free swaps! This way, you can satisfy ANY craving and get
on with your life... and your math problems. That's all we've got. HG out!
