***ATTENTION TEXT-ONLY HG SUBSCRIBERS (this means YOU!): Since only
a tiny fraction of our audience receives our emails in text-only form, and the
emails look so much better designed in HTML, we have decided to stop
sending out the text-only versions of Hungry Girl newsletters. This change
will happen in the very near future. Keep an eye out for the HTML versions in
your inbox... coming soon!***

This is the text version of Hungry Girl.

Hungry Girl Today: 10.11.10
Spotted on Shelves...

Evol. Mini Burritos - It's fitting that this brand's name is "love" spelled
backward, since we totally LOOOOVE its food items! These petite burritos (we
call them pettitos) are all natural, all delicious, and made with ingredients
from sustainable and humane sources. How awesome is that? In varieties
like Shredded Beef, Chicken & Black Bean, and Veggie Fajita, each one has
160 - 190 calories, 2 - 4g fat, 280 - 360mg sodium, 27 - 32g carbs, 2 - 4g
fiber, 0 - 1g sugars, and 5 - 8g protein (POINTS® value 3 - 4*). MUY YUM!

Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum - Desserts beware; there's an
impostor on the loose! This chewy suspect has no sugar and is considered
extremely delicious. In three flavors -- Strawberry Shortcake, Key Lime Pie,
and Mint Chocolate Chip -- and with only 5 calories and 2g carbs a stick,
chewers may be tempted to indulge in its guilt-free sweetness. And they
should. This gum is great!

Seapoint Farms Edamame Snack Packs - Steamable AND portion controlled?
These li'l bags of organic soybeans ROCK! In microwave-ready pouches,
each 2.5-oz. serving has 90 calories, 2.5g fat, 30mg sodium, 8g carbs, 3g
fiber, 1g sugars, and 8g protein (POINTS® value 1*). There's the shelled
kind, with two servings per pack, as well as single-serving packs of in-pod
edamame. SO great. Look for 'em in freezer aisles at natural-foods stores
and supermarkets nationwide.

Soup's On: Piping-Hot News!
How convenient! Now that temperatures are dropping, a couple of companies
have announced new souped-up (har har!) varieties of spoonable goodness.
Progresso has a BUNCH of exciting products on the way: A new World
Recipes line with soups like Tortilla y Pollo (YUM!); new High Fiber soups, like
a Three-Bean Chili with Beef; and finally, the Light line is getting its first
cream-based soup... Welcome, Progresso Light New England Clam Chowder!
And souper-douper news (okay, we'll stop with the soup puns) from
Campbell's: Look for limited-edition Sun-Ripened Yellow Tomato and Harvest
Orange Tomato condensed soups in select markets. We LOVE beautiful
foods!

A Nut Above the Rest!
The Buzz...

Attention chewers! Did you know that walnuts could help relieve stress?
(Unless, of course, you eat too many, gain weight, and have a panic attack.)
Researchers at Penn State took a look at how consumption of walnuts and
walnut oil influenced the blood pressure of test subjects; turns out it
significantly reduced both resting AND stress-respondent blood pressure.
Yay, walnuts! ***What would be the next best thing to an HG app? A
SparkRecipes app! And it's out there -- click here for the iPhone, iPad, and
iPod touch version; click here to get it for your BlackBerry; and click here if
you want it for your Android phone. FYI, a BUNCH of users have uploaded
HG recipes... Super! ***If you like the convenience of instant oatmeal but
the wispy oats leave you craving a little more substance, check THIS out:
Three popular flavors of Quaker Instant Oatmeal -- Apples & Cinnamon,
Maple & Brown Sugar, and Cinnamon & Spice -- now have bigger oats and
25 percent less sugar; plus, Quaker's new Hearty Medleys Instant Multigrain
Hot Cereal ROCKS, with four different types of grains in each packet. Is it
just us, or is breakfast looking REALLY hot? ***And for the people who wish
pomegranate seeds weren't so darn hard, good news! The new Angel Red
pomegranates have softer seeds and lots of juicy flavor in their arils. We
can't wait to get our hands (and teeth) on these poms... That's all we've got.
HG out!
